SONG OF THE CHAPTER : ALWAYS - DANIEL CAESER

— Gia sat in Costa's class, working on an assignment with Chiara as Costa had allowed them to move seats for the day.

Chiara had felt a stare on her and Gia, causing her to turn around and meet eyes with Lucas. She quickly turned away and subtly nudged Gia with her elbow.

Gia winced slightly, her brows crumbling up in confusion. "Why is your boyfriend staring at us like he wants to kill us?" Chiara mumbled.

Gia discreetly glanced at Lucas, quickly turning away. "No idea. I think he's just mad at me still." Gia admitted with a dubious shrug.

"Mad about what?" Chiara scoffed questioningly, her brow nearly meeting her hairline in a matter of baffle.

"About the whole Niccolo thing, remember?" Gia asked in a lower tone.

Chiara nodded. "But still?" She said in a tone full of disbelief. "Yes, it's just getting stupid at this point." Gia huffed, her eyes squinting with frustration.

"You really should talk to Lucas. You guys are great together. Dare I even say better than you and Niccolo ever were, whether it was fake or not." Chiara reached out to squeeze Gia's hand.

"Ludo thought otherwise. But, yeah, sure. I will." Gia nodded, giving a long huff.

AFTER SCHOOL.

Gia was running a few laps on the track at practice with Chiara, Damiano on the bleachers as well as Niccolo, which would come as a surprise to Gia when she noticed after running a lap.

Finally, her and Chiara came to a stop, both panting out of breath as running pace came to slow gradually.

"Nice one." Chiara nudged Gia, approaching the sidelines and grabbing their water bottles, tossing Gia's to her. Gia caught it, quickly screwing the cap off and chugging the water.

Her eyes were drawn to a figure on the bleachers which definitely wasn't Lucas. She saw Niccolo, nearly choking on her water.

Without saying any words of explanation, she rushed off into the girl's locker room, feeling a sense of panic.

Gia's chest rose rapidly and shallowly, her hand flying to her chest, her other on her hip as she tried to gain some sense of control or composure.

"Tutto bene?" Chiara's voice spoke up in the quiet room. Gia whipped around, giving a startled gasp before she reluctantly nodded.
