SONG OF THE CHAPTER : I LOVE YOU, I'M SORRY - GRACIE ABRAMS

— It'd been a day since Gia last texted Niccolo, life felt like a reoccurring nightmare that could only be stopped if you just put the pieces together.

She lied in her bed beside Lucas, both silently staring the roof due to being deep in thought over an awkward situation.

They'd attempted to get intimate, however Gia simply couldn't do it, nor could she explain why.

"Is it... is it because of him?" Lucas then asked, breaking the silence. Gia's face crinkled up in confusion as she craned her head to Lucas. "What?" She said so he could repeat it.

"You know who I'm talking about." Lucas's jaw clenched as he spoke at the mere idea of Niccolo.

Gia sighed and turned back to the ceiling. "No... I lost feelings for him a long time ago. I thought we talked about this already. I'm just not ready to get intimate." Gia mumbled her last sentence as if it were something she was ashamed of.

But both Lucas and Gia knew deep down that it wasn't true.

Lucas gave a grunt of frustration and got up from the bed, sitting down with his legs hanging off the bed as he reached down to the floor to put his jeans and shoes on, then grabbed his shirt and pulled it over his head.

"What are you doing?" Gia sat up on the bed, her brows knitting together. She already knew the answer but begged it wasn't true.

"I'm going home. You know, Gia, I'd believe that you were over him. I almost did. The whole summer, you were all over me. Then once you two saw each other in person at school the other day for the first time in a while, I could see the damn looks in your eyes." Lucas grumbled in explanation.

"I—But, Lucas, it's not like that. You know that." Gia said, staring at Lucas who gathered his things.

He made his way to the door, glancing back at Gia. "Do I?" He scoffed, exiting the room and shutting the door behind him.

Gia let out a sigh, throwing her head into her hands as she rubbed her temples to try and gather composure.

Lucas, who was walking outside to his car, saw Niccolo who was throwing the trash out, storming over to him.

Niccolo noticed Lucas approaching, furrowing his brows in defense.

Lucas swung on Niccolo, then grabbed him by the collar of his shirt before he could react to the punch.
