Remmy's Sudden Confession

Meanwhile Noelia was in his bakery working. When Noelia was brewing coffee, he then heard the bell on the door ring and Remmy entered the bakery. Noelia was surprised to see her in the bakery.

"Noel!" said Remmy, waving at Noelia. "I didn't expect you to be here, do you work at this place?"

"Yeah, I worked here so I can help my brother and mother," Noelia replied.

"Wow! That's a real nice of you," said Remmy. "Anyways, I'll order a coffee."

"Sure thing, It'll be done in a sec!" Noelia replied.

Remmy went to find her seat and Noelia brewed her coffee. Sebastian saw them and went up to Noelia.

"You got a new friend again? You seemed to be interested in her, you're not with Maria anymore?" Sebastian asked.

Noelia stayed quiet and continued brewing the coffee. Once it was done, he brought the coffee to Remmy. Then Remmy asked if Noelia was free at 12 PM tomorrow and Noelia asked about the occasion. Remmy wanted Noelia to join her at Mark's house. Noelia checked his schedule and he was free tomorrow at that time.

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow. Let's go together since you probably don't know where his house is," said Remmy.

Then the next day later, Remmy was in front of the bakery waiting for Noelia. Noelia finished getting ready and he told Sebastian that he would be back at around 6 PM to 7 PM, so he and Remmy went to Mark's house. Noelia didn't see Beth around and asked where Beth was since Remmy was always with her. Remmy said that Beth would catch up later.

The two arrived at Mark's house, Remmy rang the doorbell multiple times. Mark opened the door and told them to come in.

"Oh yeah Remmy, you know you could just ring the bell once, right?" said Mark.

"I'm just making sure you heard it," Remmy replied.

"I'm not 70, Remmy. My ears are still fine!" said Mark.

Mark led the two to his backyard where Jay was already there. Jay was sitting below the tree. Then another one rang the doorbell.

"That must be Beth, I'll go get her," said Mark.

"So what are you guys doing?" Noelia asked.

"Mark wanted us to check out his treehouse and brag about how it still stood strong since third grade." Jay replied.

"Alright guys, Beth is here so let's get to my grand palace," said Mark, climbing his treehouse.

"Looks like a homeless shelter for tree dwellers," said Beth sarcastically.

"I heard that, Beth!" said Mark at the treehouse.

The rest climbed up to the treehouse and tried to squeeze in. The treehouse was too tight, everyone tried to fit in and adjust their position. The treehouse miraculously managed to hold all the weight.

"Mark, this is too cramped, why don't you just renovate it?" Beth asked.

"Hey, I like the way this treehouse has always been," Mark replied.

Remmy sat closely next to Noelia, her hand touched Noelia's hand which made her blush. Then when Jay tried to move, Noelia got close to Remmy which even made her blush more. Noelia noticed her red face and asked what was wrong. Remmy told Noelia not to worry and ended it with a nervous laugh.

"So...what now, Mark?" Jay asked.

"We could play some board games," Mark replied.

They spend their time playing with Mark's board games. They became bored right after the third game. Mark suggested that they go to a park near his house. The rest wasn't sure as they were getting bored with parks then Mark said it had a skatepark.

Beth instantly agreed with the idea to persuade the others to go. Remmy for some reason agreed on the idea too. So everyone decided to go to the park near Mark's house. Once they arrived at the park, Beth immediately headed straight to the skatepark with her skateboard.

"I guess there's four of us left," said Mark.

'Hey Noel, can you follow me?" Remmy asked, "I wanna tell you something in private."

"Sure thing!" Noelia replied, leaving Mark and Jay.

"Great...it's just the two of us again. Beth is busy with her skateboard and those two are probably going to make out," said Mark "I guess we're always going to be together.".

"That sounds kinda...nevermind, I'm not going to think about it," Jay replied.

Beth called out Remmy before she went to the location with Noelia. Beth gave a nod to Remmy as a sign of her wishing her cousin good luck. Remmy nodded back and proceeded to go to the location.

Noelia followed Remmy to a location. It had beautiful and green trees, and the breeze was fresh. Noelia asked why Remmy brought him here. Remmy turned around and took a deep breath.

"Noel...do you believe in love at first sight?" Remmy asked.

"I'm not sure. Why do you ask that so suddenly?" Noelia replied.

"Ever since I first saw you, I've gotten a feeling. It's like butterflies in my stomach," said Remmy. "Noel...although we only met for almost a month. I...have a crush on you..."

Noelia's eyes widened as this news was so sudden to him. He was speechless and couldn't say a word.

"Do you feel the same way...?" Remmy firmly asked.

Noelia looked down and said, "I'm sorry, Remmy...I don't...feel the same. Please, forgive me."

"Oh...that's fine. You don't really have to like me," said Remmy, smiling while hiding her devastated expression.

Remmy's heart broke and tears began to show. Remmy excused herself to the bathroom. Noelia noticed her tears and realized what he had done. He chased her so he could give an explanation.

"Remmy, wait!" said Noelia while chasing "Damn it...Is my life really going to be like those romantic movies I watched?!"

Noelia lost Remmy, she was nowhere to be seen. Noelia panicked and tried to think for a way. Noelia regretted what he said but he couldn't lie to himself and Remmy. Noelia continued to search for Remmy.

He finally caught up to Remmy who was sitting while sobbing. Noelia didn't want to lose another friend so he went up to Remmy to apologize and comfort her.

"Remmy...I'm sorry. I know I rejected you but that doesn't end our friendship," said Noelia. "I do love you but as a friend and we just recently met."

"Do you still, now? Even after I confessed to you?" Remmy asked.

"Yes, you'll always be my friend. The truth is...I'm still in love with someone," Noelia replied. "So now, don't be sad. We're still friends."

Noelia extended his hand with a smile. Remmy felt comfort from his words and realized that she can't expect someone to love her immediately. Remmy grabbed his hand and wiped her tears, she smiled and thanked Noelia for being her friend.

"Why are they taking so long, it's getting dark," said Jay.

"I think see them already, they're over there!" said Mark.

Remmy and Noelia regrouped with the rest. They planned to go back to Mark's place and order some pizza. They could see Mark and Jay arguing over pizza again. Beth was walking next to Remmy. She got closer to her and asked something.

"So how did it go for you?" Beth asked.

"He...rejected but at least we're still friends. I don't really regret doing it," Remmy replied.

"Does that mean you are okay with that?" Beth asked again.

"Yeah, I'm glad Jay introduced him to us," said Remmy with a smile. "I felt something about him now...he's a real mature guy."
