Feels Like a Reward, Doesn't It?

Noelia recovered from his injuries and returned back to his home after a week from the hospital. His family were overjoyed at Noelia's recovery.

"First you survived from a head injury and now you survived an injury entirely from your body. You are a strong man, Noelia!" Sebastian complimented.

Sebastian handed out a letter to Noelia. Noelia read the letter and said to be from Maria. He opened the letter and read it. The letter contains a request for Noelia to meet Maria alone tomorrow at her workplace.

Noelia wondered about the request and decided to head to Maria's workplace the next day. Maria was busy fixing a vehicle, he knocked at the vehicle. Maria showed herself from her creeper.

"Oh Noelia! Hold on, I'm still fixing this vehicle. Could you wait outside first?" Maria asked.

"Sure," Noelia replied.

Maria went to Noelia after she fixed the vehicle. Noelia told her about the letter and she confirmed that she sent it. Noelia asked about what he wanted from the request. Maria asked Noelia to be prepared which made him more curious.

"Do you want to be my boyfriend?" Maria asked.

Noelia blushed and his eyes widened, he couldn't believe what Maria asked.

"Ah! It's fine if you don't want to, I just uh-,." said Maria

"Sure, I can be your boyfriend," Noelia replied.

"Wait really?!" Maria asked again.

Noelia nodded and Maria excitedly jumped at Noelia hugging him. She asked him out for a date night at a restaurant tomorrow on Sunday. Noelia accepted her invitation, Maria kissed him and happily went back to her work."

"I'll see you tomorrow then!" said Maria excitedly.

Noelia waved back and returned to the bakery. He went inside with a joyous expression. He joyfully declared to his elder brother like a show off that he was going on a date with Maria tomorrow. Sebastian congratulated him and watched as he went jumping upstairs. Sebastian never saw Noelia this happy and was glad that he was finally growing up.

"That little brother of mine...Although I'm happy for him, does he not realize that I'm married?" said Sebastian smilingly.

It was now the day of Noelia's date night with Maria. He wore some nice clothes. Noelia went to Maria's apartment to pick her up, he was excited. He ran the bell and Maria told him to wait as she was getting ready. Maria came out beautifully, Noelia's eyes shone and was in awe, he complimented Maria saying that she looked magnificent.

Noelia extended his hand offering to hold hands. Maria giggled and accepted the offer, it felt cartoony. They walked to the restaurant they planned for their date night. They got a seat for two.

The restaurant was lit with creamish light that gave a cozy warm feeling. The place looked like an Italian themed restaurant, tables covered with a mix of red and pink squared motif fabric with scented candles as the decoration.

Noelia was excited and nervous, he fidgeted his sleeves. He was about to sweat and his eyes were looking around. Maria seemed to be enjoying jazz music that was being played.

"So what do you want to eat?" Noelia asked.

"You don't have to worry about that, a date should be focused more on us spending time together," Maria replied.

A waiter approached them and asked for their orders. Noelia ordered a bolognese spaghetti with a glass of water and Maria ordered parmigiana with a cup of iced jasmine tea. They were given bread sticks as snacks while they waited for their meals.

"Anyways, do you like the place, Noelia?" Maria asked.

"Yeah, I like the atmosphere and the smell of garlic," said Noelia.

"Oh no! Why did I say the smell of garlic," said Noelia in his head.

"Is everything okay?" Maria asked.

"Yeah yeah, everything's alright," said Noelia nervously.

Their meals were given, Noelia drooled at the delicious food. Maria noticed Noelia drooling over the food and found it funny. Maria told him to stop drooling and enjoy the food. Noelia took the first bite and was blown away by the taste of the food, Noelia felt the taste as heavenly. Maria asked Noelia's opinion on his first bite.

"It's...Amazing!! This dish is better than I imagined!" said Noelia.

"Haha, glad you like it," Maria replied. She then grabbed her drink and lifted it as she was proposing for a toast.

"What?" Noelia asked.

"A toast for our first date," said Maria with a smile.

Noelia smiled back and lifted his drink too then they had a toast. They finally finished their meals and felt full. A waiter asked everyone to find a dance partner as the jazz musicians were about to play a song. Noelia tried to avoid it, Maria then grabbed Noelia's hand and dragged him to the dance floor where everybody was dancing.

"Uh Maria...I can't dance," said Noelia.

"Don't worry, I'll help you with it," Maria replied.

Noelia and Maria were on the dance floor holding each other's hands. Maria moved her hands and Noelia followed. Maria stepped to the right but Noelia then stepped to the left. Noelia apologized for the mistake but Maria brushed it off. If it was Noelia's first time then Maria would be fine with it.

Noelia soon got the hang of it and the two danced gracefully with each other. Their movements synchronized smoothly. Noelia began to enjoy dancing with Maria. The musicians jazzed up and fastened the music, everyone danced accordingly to the speed and rhythm. Noelia couldn't get used to it but Maria was there to help. Then the musicians switched to slowing it down so everyone slowly danced.

Noelia and Maria's hand touched each other as they slowly danced. They looked at each other with stars in their eyes. Noelia lingered closely towards Maria and their lips met as the music stopped. Their eyes locked into each other.

Maria smiled and said, "That was beautiful."

After they finished their dance, they paid for their meals and went back home. Noelia accompanied Maria to her apartment. The two walked closely with their heads leaning on each other while Maria held her arms on to Noelia's shoulder. They weren't paying attention that they were being such a lovey-dovey couple.

They arrived back at Maria's apartment and it was night time. They hugged each other and before Maria could enter her apartment, she turned to Noelia and asked him if he remembered something like this. Noelia tried to remember, he recalled the first time he walked her home. Maria gave him a smile and kissed him again just as the first time he walked her home. Maria entered her apartment, Noelia followed her but Maria stopped him.

"Nuh uh," said Maria, saying no with her finger. "It's too early and you should go back home."

"Oh yeah right haha...Sorry," said Noelia nervously scratching his neck. Then Maria entered her apartment and Noelia walked back home.

"Damn...Was I about to get freaky..." Noelia said to himself.

Noelia and Maria began to date each other for almost a year. They grew closer as their bond strengthened. On one special date, Noelia asked Maria to follow him. Maria wasn't sure where but she decided to go along. Although the place was quite dark, it was surrounded by gorgeous stars. She asked about the occasion.

Noelia grabbed both Maria's hand and kneeled on one foot. He withdrew his hands and grabbed an object from his pocket. He told her to close her eyes which she does. While she was closing her eyes, Noelia told her about his love for her and why he loved her since they began hanging out more with each other then he told her to open up. Maria was stunned, it was an engagement ring.

"Will you marry me, Maria?" said Noelia with a smile.

Maria gasped and said with tears of joy, "Yes! Of course I will!". Then she hugged Noelia and they embraced each other.

Noelia felt Maria's hug and he felt as if it was rewarding. It was going to be the beginning of their new lives. But one thing that got into Maria's mind, how their parents' reaction was going to be. Noelia assured that he had a plan.
