It was 10:00 PM and the bakery was closing. They cleaned up the place after all the customers left. Noelia heard something coming from the garage. He decided to check the garage but was stopped by Sebastian.
"Where are you going?" Sebastian asked.
"I heard something so I'm going to check something at the garage," Noelia replied.
"Alright, I forgot to close the garage door so can you close it for me?" Sebastian asked
Noelia nodded then he proceeded to go to the garage. The garage was quite dark, some objects were unseeable due to darkness. Noelia touched the wall trying to find the light switch but then he saw something. It looked like a person.
"Who's there?!" said Noelia anxiously
Suddenly Sebastian and Rosa heard a scream from the garage. It was Noelia's scream. They rushed into the garage to see what happened. Sebastian turned on the lights and was shocked to see Noelia on the ground bleeding from his head.
Sebastian exited the garage to check if someone was there. He saw the perpetrator running. He tried to chase but he lost the perpetrator so then he went back to check up on his injured younger brother. Sebastian told his mother to bring Noelia to the car. They would rush to the hospital as fast as they could.
Sebastian and Rosa rushed to the receptionist desk to find a doctor. Then they got a doctor. They brought Noelia to the patient room. The doctor checked on Noelia's injury and began to treat the injury. A cloth was put on Noelia's head to stop the bleeding. Noelia then was applied by gauze bandage wrapped around his head.
"How was he? Is he okay?" Rosa asked worriedly.
"The injury was quite severe but not fatal. I advise to get some rest for a few days until his wounds are healed. You can visit me for check-ups," said the doctor.
Sebastian and Rosa thanked the doctor gratefully. They both leave the hospital and return to the bakery. Noelia was put in his bed for him to rest. Sebastian and Rosa looked worried, they hoped that Noelia would get better soon.
The next day, Sebastian and Rosa went to check up on Noelia's condition. They fed Noelia with food and let him rest again. Sebastian would sometimes bring Noelia to the doctor for check-ups. Rosa grew worried over time, she could barely concentrate on work. Sebastian also experienced the same as he too was worried. When they couldn't check on Noelia, Mira would sometimes check up and treat Noelia.
Elena and Manuel arrived at the bakery as they heard the news. They came upstairs and knocked on Noelia's room. They heard no responses so they quietly entered his room. Noelia was sleeping in his bed. Their presence had woken up Noelia. He slowly opened his eyes and got up.
"Noelia, are you feeling better?" Elena asked with a worried look.
"I'm...just dizzy," said Noelia.
"Do you need anything, Noelia? I could go get it for you," Manuel asked.
"Just a cup of water," Noelia replied to Manuel who then nodded.
"How did this happen, Noelia?" Elena asked.
"I don't remember that much, it happened all of a sudden," Noelia answered. "Ack! My head still hurts...this is not good."
"There there, Noelia. Don't think too much of it, your head's injury still hasn't fully healed yet so get some rest," said Elena.
Manuel came back to Noelia's room and brought a cup of water and gave it to Noelia. Noelia struggled to drink as he randomly experienced headaches from the injuries. Manuel helped Noelia with the drink.
"Get well soon, little brother," said Elena, patting Noelia's head.
Noelia nodded and went back to sleep. Elena gave him a bell and she told Noelia if he needed something, he could just ring the bell. Elena and Manuel were in the living room so they could hear the bell. Then Elena and Manuel exited the room to give Noelia some time to rest.
Meanwhile Sebastian was downstairs working. He noticed Maria entering the bakery. Maria seemed to be looking for something or maybe someone.
"Oh it's that girl," said Sebastian in his head.
"What do you want to order?" Sebastian asked as Maria approached the counter.
"I want to see Noelia. May I see him?" Maria asked back.
"He's upstairs, he suffered an injury so he's resting. Try not to disturb him that much," said Sebastian.
"Alright, thanks," Maria thanked as she then went upstairs.
Meanwhile upstairs with Elena, Manuel and their mother sitting together in the living room. They were discussing Noelia's condition. Rosa still expressed her worries for Noelia. She didn't know if Noelia could get better, she thought the injury would be fatal. Elena calmed her mother down, the injury wasn't as bad as she thought. There would still be hope for Noelia to recover.
They heard footsteps coming from downstairs. It sounded like someone was coming up. They expected Sebastian to be the one coming upstairs but it wasn't who they were expecting.
Maria appeared upstairs and saw Rosa and Noelia's two other siblings but there was one that she didn't know. The three were surprised and weren't expecting Maria to come upstairs Maria or even happened to be here. Maria looked at Manuel then they stared at each other awkwardly.
"Oh you must be Noelia's friend that stayed for the night. What brings you here?" Rosa asked
"I came to visit Noelia, Mrs...uh...uhm," said Maria confusedly.
"Just call me Mrs Sanchez," Rosa replied.
"Welcome, Maria!" said Elena.
Manuel turned to his mother and asked about the girl. He had seen her before but didn't know who she was.
"It's Noelia's friend," Elena whispered.
"Manuel, don't be rude. Introduce yourself and greet the guest," said Rosa
Manuel didn't seem to want to, but Rosa insisted. Manuel reluctantly got up and approached Maria. He extended his arm to give Maria a handshake.
"Hello there, my name's Manuel. Noelia's third elder sibling," said Manuel
"I'm Maria." said Maria, shaking Manuel's hand.
Maria excused herself and went to Noelia's room. Maria looked at the resting Noelia. She called out his name quietly hoping it wouldn't bother him. Noelia didn't wake up so Maria waited. Noelia hadn't woken up yet so Maria decided to leave the room. Maria said her goodbyes to Rosa and excused herself.
Meanwhile Sebastian was downstairs still working. He couldn't concentrate as he was worried for Noelia. Sebastian decided to check up on Noelia but someone rang the bell. Sebastian returned downstairs to see the same person who was with Maria at the library.
"What can I do for you, sir?" Sebastian asked.
Before the person could order, the person saw Maria and recognized her. Maria looked back and recognized the person when she was at the library.
"Maria?" Ethan asked.
"Ethan?" Maria replied.
