"Okay, now steady..." Deer said, he and his half-brother were in his lab. They were concocting a new substance. Bat had a test tube in metal tongs. It contained a weird mucky black liquid in it. Deer looked up at Bat. "Bat, you really should be wearing safety goggles." Bat instructed. Deer was wearing safety goggles, but Bat wasn't. Bat rolled his eyes at him.

"Deer, it's fine. It's not like it's gonna spray." Bat shrugged. Deer didn't bother to argue with him.

"Fine, but if you get something in your eyes don't come crying to me about it." Deer. Bat chuckled sarcastically at him. "Okay, just carefully pour the stuff into the beaker." Deer explained. Bat did just that. The liquid mixed in with the carbon dioxide. It began to bubble, rapidly. Bat and Deer took a step back. Bat began to sweat a little bit.

"Is it meant to do that?" Bat asked. Deer wasn't so sure. The beaker began to shake a little bit. The half-brothers exchanged looks of worry. The beaker shook for a good few seconds. It then suddenly stopped. The two stood there in silence. Deer was a bit disappointed. He grabbed his clipboard and wrote down watch just happened. Keeping track of the experiment. Bat took a step closer and looked down at the beaker. Deer didn't notice this at first, he took his eyes off the clipboard and saw Bat close to the beaker.

"Bat, don't get so close!" Deer demanded. But all of a sudden, the beaker had a mini explosion and burst. Bat jumped back and covered his eyes; he howled in pain. Deer dropped the clipboard in fright at the pop. He saw Bat in pain and rushed over to him. "Bat! Are you okay!?" Deer asked. Bat rubbed his eyes rapidly. Trying to get the stuff out. "I told you not to get close." Deer added. Bat was still covering his eyes. Deer got really worried that Bat could be seriously hurt. "Can I see your eyes?" Deer asked. Bat exhaled, he uncovered them, and Deer got a good at them, they were bloodshot red, with tears dripping down. The black stuff was smudged on his cheeks and eyelids. Deer gasped a little, this caused Bat to panic.

"Is it bad!? Bat cried. Deer kept his composure; he tried his best to calm Bat down. Deer grabbed some towels and wiped Bat's face clean. The tears were gone, but not the black stuff, Deer got even more worried. Bat saw Deer's expression, he too got scared even more.

"I think we should get you to the doctor." Deer insisted, He took Bat by the hand, and they ran out the lab. Meanwhile, Stripe and Gizmo were walking to the clamp tower cafe. Gizmo spotted Brain there and waved at him.

"Brain!" Gizmo called out. Brain was sitting at a table, reading the newspaper. He heard his name being called, he looked up and saw Gizmo and smiled. But when he saw Stripe, his smile turned into a frown. Stripe gave the same frown at Brain. Gizmo began tugging Stripe by his arm. Obviously trying to get him to follow. Stripe sighed and walked over to Brain with Gizmo. Brain scooted in his seat to make room for Gizmo, but not enough for Stripe. Stripe rolled his eyes and sat in the seat on the other side.

"So, why did you call my name, Giz?" Brain asked. Gizmo looked up at him.

"I just wanted to see how you're doing. You've been a bit distant lately, and I was worried." Gizmo answered. Brain was surprised, he concentrated on his work that he didn't know that he was distancing himself from Gizmo. He felt a bit guilty.

"I'm so sorry about that, Giz." Brain apologized. Gizmo was shocked that he said sorry.

"No, you don't have to apologize, it's okay. But maybe I was thinking, can we hang out this afternoon?" Gizmo asked. Brain blushed a little, he grinned happily.

"Of course!" Brain cheered. Stripe was angry at this. He glared at Gizmo.

"But Gizzy! I thought we were gonna spend time together this afternoon." Stripe cried. He felt heartbroken.
