Ta-da! Guess who's overcome writer's block and decided to write something after nearly a year? That's right, me! Although to be fair, I was quite occupied with my full-time job.
I must admit, I've rewritten "The Best Regret" about three times. The concept originated when I was 16, and now at 19, I find myself despising the book. I believe this aversion is why I struggle to actively produce chapters regularly. I intend to rewrite the book, retaining the same characters. Those who are original readers might recall that there were meant to be more boys in the story.
But I've worked hard and put a lot of time and effort into this story. Do you think I should start over?
I'm considering rewriting this book, but I would like your thoughts on it. Should I complete the current version? I can't guarantee it will be finished before I begin the next one. My writing style has evolved, and it's been a while since I've written a chapter, leaving me feeling disconnected from my characters and their essence. I aim for perfection in my work.
I'm considering altering the plot as well. However, as I mentioned, I want to retain the same characters. Perhaps a setting other than an institution? It seems there are numerous books with similar plots and identical outcomes. I would appreciate your suggestions!
I realize this is my mistake. "Author, you shouldn't have stayed away so long that you forgot the plot and what's happening, to the point where you feel disconnected!" But I apologize! I can't help it.
Let me know your thoughts! Thank you.
