The Monster Came

It sang me a song to get me to sleep

While the other monsters underneath my bed creaked with fear

My toes curled under the blanket in despair and cold air

The boogeyman rose up

I closed my eyes, covered myself with my blanket

While I hoped it would go away if I did not make a peep

I could sense it watching, leaning over me

Terror ran through my veins

"I know you're awake...."

That was the last I heard before it dragged me away
