As the yacht sailed on, the couple sat together on the plush couch, Avyaan's hand resting on the headrest behind her. The soft waves rolled in, creating a soothing melody. A comfortable silence surrounded them as they witnessed the breathtaking beauty of nature, the sun slowly sinking beneath the crystal-clear water.

The silence was broken by the crew member's call. "Excuse me, sir. May I have your two minutes, please?"

Avyaan nodded, his gaze softening as he gently pinched Varahi's cheek. "I'll be back," he said. "Stay here, and don't jump."

Varahi's lips curled into a smile before her eyes fell on the crew member, who was grinning at Avyaan's remark. "I would have," she teased, "If you, by chance, forgot to tell me."

"I know," Avyaan teased back, winking at her before turning towards the crew member as they made their way inside the yacht.

Varahi gazed at the tranquil atmosphere, her heart swelling with gratitude. Everything felt heavenly - the company of her favourite person, the calm surroundings, and ample privacy. Avyaan's presence reminded her of how lucky she was.

Their marriage had been a rollercoaster ride, with both of them lacking in their parts. It was always 'if he tried, she didn't, she tried, he didn't.' Varahi needed answers to her questions, assurance that she was close to perfect in Avyaan's eyes. She had confessed her desires for a husband, but he had never shared his expectations for a wife.

"Hm, where lost?" Avyaan's soft voice interrupted her inner turmoil.

"What was it?" He shook his head, dodging the question quickly.

"One question?" He hummed , placing her leg above his thighs as he caressed her cloth covered skin.

"Our marriage , was it against your will?" Her sudden question caught him off guard.

It was never like that. "No , it was never like that" Avyaan shaked his head waiting for her to continue.

"Why was mummy actually quite distant in the beginning?"

"You remember our first date after our engagement?" She hummed. "We talked about how we needed at least four to six months to at least know each other well , understand each other well before getting married" Avyaan breathed out ,the memories rushing back.

"I fought with dad , A very serious fight." Varahi's lips parted as the newfound information.

"I told him that we needed time to get to know each other , since we were already engaged we could extend the marriage and get to know eachother better but he didn't listen and I hate it how my anger escalates within seconds once I get angry." Avyaan gazed at the soft waves , the memories flashing.

"But he didn't listen , we fought a lot. We didn't even talk for days but the fear of upsetting him for life time crashed with full force that I agreed on whatever he wanted." He sighed , his eyes meeting hers for a fleeting moment before again dropping to the crystal clear water. He has actually witnessed how fights can run longer , how fights can actually be never ending. He has seen his father and grandfather , they never actually sat together and shared even a few words.
