"So you're part of that new YG group everyone's losing their minds over? I'm curious." Pyo wondered.
"Yep we called Blackpink, the new faces of YG. We just debuted last year but we're taking off." Japanese rapper Chanmina stated.
Only being nineteen years old she has become the new darling of Japan. Her lengthy experience with rapping allowed her to take steps no other idol has stepped before: the Japanese market.
"Your Korean sounds very good for a foreigner." U-Kwon said.
"That's cuz I'm half Korean. I was born here, but I grew up in Japan. It's long story so I don't wanna bore ya with you, but you could say I grew up with both cultures." She shrugged.
"Zico would have probably liked to hang out with you. He spent a little bit in Japan so he could speak Japanese." Pyo said.
"Did he now? I didn't think there were people here who could speak Japanese. Only one I know who could speak or CL, Jay Park, and Daesung." Chanmina stated.
"I'm not super fluent but I can understand some words. We did after all promoted in Japan. With you as an idol does that mean they're gonna focus over there like that Twice group?" U-Kwon asked.
"Maybe... I don't think it's gonna be the main focus since the focus is Korea then the rest of the world. YG-nim has big plans for us! I'm just glad I get to do my own thing. I hope to inspire little girls both Korea and Japan." Chanmina said with determination.
"Your story about overcoming bullying is inspiring. It's a bit problem here in Korea."
"It's a major issue in Japan. They label those don't strive for school as delinquents! People are just tired of working at an office and get paid little. That's something I hope Japan changes. We'll see if that ever happens, I doubt it's gonna happen now." Chanmina replied.
She was a victim of intense bullying as a child. Being both Korean and Japan has put her in an awkward spot where she feels outcasted. Through listening to BigBang motivated her to pursue music and later to join YG. In just a year she already accomplished a lot.
