"Yes, I've already agreed it was a little fishy, Harry," Hermione sighed impatiently. said. She was sitting on the windowsill in Fred and George's room and had only grudgingly looked up from her new copy of Advanced Rune Translation.

Ron laid on Fred's bed again, his broomstick in hand as he attempted to straightened the bent tail twigs while Harry's head rested in Jupiter's lap as he ranted about Draco's suspicions activity in Borgin and Burkes for the hundredth time that week; Jupiter autonomously played with his hair with one hand while she flipped through her copy of Advanced Potion Making. "But haven't we agreed there could be a lot of explanations?"

"Maybe he's broken his Hand of Glory" Ron said vaguely. "Remember that shriveled-up arm Draco had?"

"Or maybe he's just repairing a cursed heirloom or something," Jupiter shrugged. "The Malfoy's don't fool around with their family rings..."

"But what about when he said, 'Don't forget to keep that one safe'?" Harry asked for the
umpteenth time. "That sounded to me like Borgin's got another one of the broken objects, and Malfoy wants both."

"You reckon?" Ron said, now trying to scrape some dirt off his broom handle.

"Yeah, I do," Harry nodded. When neither Jupiter nor Hermione answered, he said, "Malfoy's father's in Azkaban. Don't you think Malfoy'd like revenge?"

"Honestly, Harry, what on earth could Draco do?" Jupiter scoffed lightly.

"That's my point, I don't know!" Harry groaned, frustrated, his eyes locked on the ceiling of the bedroom. "But he's up to something and I think we should take it seriously. His father's a Death Eater and..."

Harry broke off, his eyes fixed on the Gryffindor flag hanging above George's bed, his mouth open.

"You okay?" Jupiter asked, sitting up slightly as she sat her book down. "Does your scar hurt?"

"He's a Death Eater," Harry said slowly, shaking his head. "He's replaced his father as a Death Eater!"

Jupiter felt her heart sink down to her stomach. There was a silence; then Ron erupted in laughter. "Malfoy? He's sixteen, Harry! You think You-Know-Who would let Malfoy join?"

"Ron's right," Jupiter nodded, clinging onto any valid excuse. "Riddle's not stupid."

"It seems very unlikely, Harry," Hermione said in a repressive sort of voice. "What makes you
think —?

"In Madam Malkin's. She didn't touch him, but he yelled and jerked his arm away from her
when she went to roll up his sleeve. It was his left arm. He's been branded with the Dark Mark."

Jupiter knew Harry was onto something, but she simply didn't want to admit it to herself. She had seen Draco flinch away in the shop, but she chose to ignore it and focus on Harry instead. She didn't want to think of her cousin becoming branded like the rest of their twisted family.

"Well..." Ron muttered, sounding thoroughly unconvinced.

"I think he just wanted to get out of there, Harry," Hermione said.

"He clearly didn't want the robes," Jupiter muttered. "He probably just decided he was done with them then."

"He showed Borgin something we couldn't see," Harry pressed on stubbornly. "Something that
seriously scared Borgin. It was the Mark, I know it...he was showing Borgin who he was dealing
with, you saw how seriously Borgin took him!"
