Lucas crept closer to the Harpy’s nest, his heightened senses alert for any sign of danger. The air was heavy with the stench of blood and feathers, and he could feel the energy pulsing from the mountain, a chaotic symphony of primal power.
After much thoughts, he finally got an idea. He brought out the potion of Karamat and drank half of it all at once.
Immediately, his aura exploded outwards and he walked out of his hiding place with his sword on one hand and dagger on his other hand. Both infused with black flames.
“Time for the fun part,” Lucas muttered.
The harpies screeched, a sound that sounded for miles, and then like a swarm, they flew into the sky and began forming a circle to attack together, he didn't plan for this attack strategy. They were surely being controlled by something.
All at once they swiped down with a force that moved through the meadow, leveling the grasses.
He focused his mind, channeling his King's Command. The Harpies were close, their energy pulsing through his senses, their thoughts a jumble of primal instincts and hunger.
Black flames erupted from his hands, dancing and swirling, a mesmerizing display of destructive power. He aimed the flames at the edge of the attack and and released five waves of black flames that upon impact, exploded killing over ten of them.
Level up!
Level up!
Level up!
Level up!
Level up!The explosion scattered their attack strategy and they decided to attack one by one.
He leveled up 5 times and became more bold about finishing this fight.
“King’s Command,” he thought, his voice a low growl. His Perception was the highest due to his psychic skill and so with a single word, a wave of psychic energy spread through them.
“Kill!”
The monsters that were not prepared for the attack were caught and turned to his minions.
Four of them turned on the others and then, chaos broke out as they began fighting themselves.
He has narrowly missed being cut into two by the quicker harpies and so he left his senses activated.
He leaped around the place, dodging attacks, returning his by cutting, piercing, burning, smashing any monster that attacked him.
He kept leveling up with every kill.
Level 109. Level 110. Level 111. Level 112. Level 113.
Level 134. Level 135. Level 136.....Every monster his minions killed, he received the Exp. He had lost one and gained four extra making them seven.
After twenty minutes, there were still over 40 of them and he had lost five minions and he had also leveled up 50 more times bringing him up to level 168. But he was feeling weaker instead of stronger. He had burnt through his potions to keep his skill activated for so long in such mass.
He kept shooting fireballs from his hands, scorching any unlucky Harpy's in it's range of attack. Hoping to end them before he gets ended.
...
Lucas didn't expect things to go south so fast, he was left with Only one minion and the other Harpy's were still around thirty of them. Everytime he leveled up they also gained boosts and were now more harder to kill, they were now more coordinated in their attacks. He had cuts all over his body and he was bloody, his sword had broken and his armor torn, he had a huge gash on his chest.
