I reached for the pile of loot, my fingers trembling with anticipation. I wanted to know what I had gained, but as I reached for them, Luna suddenly grabbed my hand.
“Whoa, hold on there!” She said, her voice stern. “You’ve got to be careful when handling your loot. Some items might be cursed. It's best to identify them first before touching them.”
“Cursed?” I asked, my heart skipping a beat.
Luna nodded, a serious look on her face. “Yes, Cursed. It's a real thing. Some items are imbued with negative energy that can have all sorts of effects, from draining your health to turning you into a monster. Trust me, you don't want to be cursed. It's a very unpleasant experience. You need to learn about each item you find. It’s not a good idea to just blindly pick up something you don’t understand.”
She pointed to a small, hand-held device hanging from her belt.
“This is called an Identifier. It’s used to check the properties of items. We'll teach you how to use one later.” She says taking it off.
She handed me the Identifier, and I carefully examined it. It was a simple device, about the size of my palm, with a sleek, metallic surface.
“Alright, let's take a look at what you've got,” Luna said. “It’s a pretty good haul for your first kill.”
She placed the Identifier over the items and it glowed emerald for a few minutes before turning off.
“What was that?” I asked unable to hold it back.
“It scanned the items. Luckily for you, it's not cursed, if it was, the light turns red at the end. A warning signal.” she answered
“Oh okay, I'll keep it in mind.” I replied looking back to the loots.
She picked up a small, leather-bound book. “This is a Healing Draught. A very useful item for beginners. Use it when you’re injured. It will instantly restore some of your HP. I didn't use the identifier on it, because you will need it and not sell it.”
She handed me the book, and I tucked it into my bag. Then, she picked up a small, glowing Horn.
"This is a Bunny's horn," she explained. "It’s not very powerful, but it's a good starting trade item. As you level up, you'll be able to get better items."
“Can I see the stats with the Identifier?”
“Yes is course” she said and pressed a button. A small screen flickered to life, displaying a list of options.
She pressed a few more on the screen and then it changes. She showed me the details of the horn.
Name: Bunny Horn
Type: Item
Rarity: Rare
Effects: +20 Mana
Description: A rare horn that can be found on only gem bunny's. Usually used for crafting or to upgrade equipment.Market Value: 100 Silver
----------------------------------“Do I get to keep it?” I asked her grinning.
Silver coins are not easy to come buy, and here I was about to sell an item in exchange for it on my first day.
She handed me the horn, and I held it in my hands, feeling its weight. “You’ll need money to buy equipment and supplies. So for now, I think selling it is the best option.”
Then, she pointed to a small pouch of leather on the floor.
“This is a common pouch with the copper coins,” she said. “It will be found in the drops of nearly every monster you kill. Now it's Copper, when you fight stronger monsters, you may get silver or even gold. I don't want to mention platinum yet because we haven't seen a monster that drops Platinum. You can wear it in the dungeons, or you can sell it to merchants.”
“No I won't sell it. Not when I can use it to store money”
“Good choice” she says
She showed me how to strap the pouch in my waist belt, and then she picked up a large, shining gemstone.
Luna paused, a playful smirk spreading across her face. “This is a Gold Gemstone, worth a lot of money. You can sell it, or you can use it to exchange for items.”
My eyes widened in awe. "It’s rare? Wow!" I exclaimed, my excitement bubbling over.
“It’s a pretty good haul for your first kill,” Kaito said, a hint of pride in his voice.
Luna nodded in agreement. ”This is a good start,” she said. “You’ve got the basics covered. Now, let’s teach you how to use the Identifier.”
She took another Identifier from Kaito, a device similar to the one she had given me, and pressed a button. the small screen flickered to life, displaying a list of options, just like before.
“Alright, first, you need to choose the item you want to scan,” Luna said, pointing to the screen. “Then, you need to select the type of information you want to know about it. You can choose to see its stats, its description, or its market value.”
She demonstrated, scanning the Iron Sword. The screen instantly updated, displaying all of its stats and information.
“Pretty neat, right?” she said, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
I nodded, my eyes glued to the screen. This device was amazing! It was like having a pocket encyclopedia of everything in this world.
“Alright, now it’s your turn,” Luna said, handing me the Identifier. “Try scanning the Gold Gemstone.”
I followed her instructions. carefully selecting the Gold Gemstone and then chose the “Stats” option. The screen instantly updated, displaying all of its information.

I turned to Luna, my eyes wide with wonder. “This is amazing!” I said. “This world is amazing!”
Luna smiled. “It can be," she said. "It’s dangerous, but it can be amazing too. It all depends on you.”
Kaito nodded, his expression serious. “Yeah, it’s all about how you play it,” he said. “But remember, nothing comes easy. You’ve got to work for everything.”
I nodded, feeling motivated. I was ready to work. I was ready to explore.
I glanced at the remaining loot, the Mana Crystal. I scanned it using the Identifier and learned that

“Alright, let’s go. We’ve got more bunnies to hunt,” Kaito said.
I followed them, my heart pounding with excitement.
