The corridors were dimly lit, the air thick with dust and decay. The deeper you went, the more unsettling the place became, like an ancient tomb that hadn't seen daylight in years. You stuck close to Taehyung's side, the tension between you unspoken but heavy. Every step felt dangerous, each echo of your footfalls amplifying the eerie quiet around you.
"We're close," Lisa whispered, leading the way down a narrow, crumbling hallway.
Suddenly, the faint sound of footsteps echoed behind you. Your heart leapt in your chest as you spun around, but the corridor was empty. You exchanged a look with Taehyung, both of you on edge.
"Did you hear that?" you whispered.
Taehyung nodded, his eyes narrowing. "Stay close."
The group pressed on, every step adding to the creeping dread. Finally, you reached the door marked "Control Room." Lisa knelt down, picking the lock swiftly before easing the door open. Inside, the room was cluttered with outdated computers and tangled wires. But at the center of it all was what you had come for—a small device sitting on the desk, barely bigger than a phone.
"That's it," Taehyung said, reaching for it.
But just as his hand closed around the device, an alarm blared through the facility, the shrill sound stabbing through the air. Your pulse spiked as the doors slammed shut, locking you inside. From the security monitors, you saw guards rushing toward your location.
"We need to get out, now!" Lisa shouted, panic rising in her voice.
Taehyung shoved the device into his jacket, and the three of you scrambled for an exit. The windows were barred, and the doors wouldn't budge. Just when hope started to fade, the floor trembled beneath your feet. The sound of heavy footsteps echoed down the hallway—not human footsteps, but something far worse.
"Zombies," you breathed in horror. "They've released the zombies."
Fear gripped you as a distorted voice crackled through the intercom. The mocking, familiar tone made your blood run cold.
"You really thought you could outsmart me?" the voice sneered. "You have no idea what you've walked into, Y/N. You're already dead."
The words hit you like a punch to the gut. It wasn't just a trap. This was all part of a bigger plan, and now you were locked inside, with guards and zombies closing in. Taehyung's eyes flicked to yours, a flash of worry breaking through his usual composure. Lisa was already tearing through the room, her hands shaking as she searched for any way out.
"We need to block the door," you said quickly, glancing around at the heavy desks and chairs.
Taehyung moved to help shove a desk against the door, Lisa right behind him. The banging from the other side grew louder, the guards were close, and the growls of zombies weren't far behind.
"Think, think," you muttered to yourself, eyes scanning the room.
That's when you spotted it. An old, rusted vent—big enough to crawl through. "There!" you pointed. "We can get out through that."
Lisa yanked off the vent cover, her breath quick with fear. "Good eye, let's move!"
You climbed into the narrow space, the metal walls cold and claustrophobic. The groans of the zombies and pounding footsteps from the guards faded as you crawled deeper into the tunnel. But then, a loud creak echoed beneath you.
"Keep moving," Taehyung whispered from behind, his voice taut.
You swallowed hard and pressed forward. The end of the vent was in sight—a faint light seeping through a grate just ahead. But before you could reach it, the vent groaned louder. The metal snapped with a violent crack, sending you crashing through the air. You hit the ground hard, the impact knocking the wind out of you.
"Y/N!" Taehyung dropped down beside you, his hands on your shoulders, helping you sit up. "Are you okay?"
You winced, nodding despite the pain radiating through your body. "I'm fine... just bruised."
Lisa dropped down behind you, brushing herself off. "That could've gone better."
The room you landed in was an old storage area, stacked with dusty crates. More importantly, it was empty—for now. No guards, no zombies. Taehyung helped you to your feet, his gaze flickering toward the door at the far end of the room.
"We need to keep moving," he urged, the tension thick in his voice.
As you navigated through the maze of crates, a sudden crash echoed from behind. Your heart stuttered in your chest as you spun around, eyes wide, but there was nothing. Just shadows.
"We're not alone," Lisa whispered, hand moving to the gun at her side.
The tension in the room thickened. You reached the door at the far end, but before you could open it, the floor began to rumble again. The door burst open, and zombies flooded in. These weren't like the others you'd encountered—they were faster, more coordinated. Their glowing, sickly eyes locked onto you with unsettling precision.
"They're being controlled," Lisa gasped, backing up as she raised her gun.
Panic surged through you, but you steeled yourself. Taehyung grabbed your arm, pulling you toward the exit.
"Headshots!" he yelled over the chaos. "Aim for the head!"
You fired, dropping one zombie, but more poured in, relentless. The voice crackled through the intercom again, taunting you.
"You'll never make it out alive, Y/N. You're already dead."
The words wrapped around your mind like chains, freezing you in place. But Taehyung's grip tightened, grounding you.
"Move!" he shouted, dragging you toward the door.
The three of you burst through it, hearts racing as the door slammed shut behind you, the voice still echoing in your head.
