The moment Y/N stepped into the hiding spot, everyone's eyes snapped toward her, sensing the weight of the confrontation still lingering in the air. She stood in the doorway, pale and visibly shaken, her hands trembling as she clenched and unclenched them. Taehyung, always the first to pick up on her moods, moved toward her, but Y/N held up her hand, stopping him in his tracks.
"I need to tell you something," she said, her voice low and almost hoarse from the emotional rollercoaster of the last hour. She scanned the room, her gaze shifting from Namjoon to Yoongi, Lisa, and finally, Jimin, who stood by the window, arms crossed, looking pensive. Her eyes darted back to Taehyung, who stayed close but gave her space, waiting for her to say what she needed to.
The room felt like it was holding its breath, the weight of her words filling the air. Y/N wasn't sure how to say what she had just learned—it still didn't even feel real to her. How could she explain her father's monstrous plan or the fact that she had a brother she never even knew existed?
"He's the one," she began, her voice barely above a whisper. "My father—Jeon Dae-hyun. He's the scientist behind the virus."
Everyone froze, processing what she had just revealed. Namjoon's jaw clenched, and Yoongi, who had been leaning against a table, straightened, his brows furrowing in disbelief. Lisa's eyes widened in shock, and Jimin uncrossed his arms, his expression hard to read as his eyes flickered with emotions Y/N couldn't quite pinpoint.
Taehyung's face was the most expressive—his worry transformed into anger, and then, finally, into sorrow. "Y/N..." he whispered, stepping closer to her, his voice laced with concern. "I'm so sorry."
She shook her head, biting back the overwhelming surge of emotions threatening to spill over. "That's not all," she continued, her voice trembling but resolute. "He's not just responsible for the virus. He created a device... a controller, to manipulate the infected. He wants to use it to build an army and overthrow the government."
The room fell into stunned silence. No one knew what to say. Namjoon rubbed his temples, pacing, while Yoongi exchanged a glance with Lisa, both of them visibly troubled by this new information. Jimin stared at Y/N, a mixture of disbelief and shock in his eyes.
"He wants to rebuild the world," Y/N added bitterly, her lips quivering. "He thinks that after everything the government did to him—after losing his son—he deserves to take control. And he thinks this virus is the way to do it."
"A son?" Namjoon asked, his voice low, his eyes narrowing in confusion. "What do you mean?"
Y/N swallowed hard, her throat tightening as the next part of the revelation hit her all over again. "I had a brother," she whispered, her voice cracking. "His name was Jeon Hyun-woo. He died when I was a baby. I... I never knew he existed."
The silence that followed was deafening. Y/N could feel the weight of their gazes on her as the truth sank in. She had a brother—someone who had been erased from her life, just as her father had said. And now, because of his death, her father had chosen this destructive path.
"I didn't even know," Y/N said, her voice trembling with grief and frustration. "My parents never told me. I didn't even know he existed."
Taehyung closed the distance between them, reaching out to take her hand in his. "Y/N," he whispered softly, his eyes filled with sympathy. "I'm so sorry. You didn't deserve to find out like this."
Her hand gripped his tightly, as if holding onto him would ground her in this moment of emotional chaos. But even as Taehyung comforted her, Y/N couldn't help but feel the emptiness inside—the sense of loss that came not only from realizing her father had become a villain, but also from knowing she had lost a brother she never had the chance to know.
Namjoon finally broke the silence, his voice hard. "Your father... is he planning to move forward with this plan soon? Does he have everything he needs?"
Y/N nodded, her voice hollow. "He has the controller device. But we still have time to stop him. He didn't seem ready yet—he's still perfecting it."
"We can't let him go through with this," Yoongi said firmly, crossing his arms. "If he controls the infected, there'll be no stopping him. He'll tear everything apart."
Lisa spoke up, her voice quieter but filled with determination. "We need to find a way to destroy the device. If we take it out of the equation, his plan falls apart."
Taehyung nodded, his hand still gripping Y/N's. "We'll stop him. We have to."
Jimin, who had been silent until now, finally spoke, his voice tense. "This isn't just about stopping him anymore. Y/N... he's still your father. Are you sure you're ready for what we have to do?"
Y/N's heart clenched painfully at his words. The thought of having to go against her own father tore at her insides. But she had made her decision when she left the lab. She couldn't let him continue down this path of destruction, no matter how much it hurt.
"I don't have a choice," Y/N said quietly, her voice steady. "I have to stop him. For Hyun-woo. For everyone."
The room fell silent again, but this time, it was filled with a shared sense of resolve. They knew what had to be done, and now, it was just a matter of planning their next steps.
Taehyung squeezed Y/N's hand, his voice soft but determined. "We'll do this together. You're not alone in this."
She nodded, her eyes meeting his, grateful for the support. But deep down, Y/N knew this would be the hardest thing she had ever done—confronting the man who had raised her, who had once been her hero, and stopping him from destroying everything she had left.
Her father's plans might be monstrous, but she wasn't going to let him succeed.
No matter what it took.
The room began buzzing with activity as they discussed their next steps, but Y/N remained quiet, her mind still reeling from everything that had come to light. She had a brother. Her father had started a war in his name. And now, she had to end it.
