It was the middle of the semester, and GIA was buzzing with the usual rhythm of school life—exams, club activities, and the occasional friendly drama that filled the hallways. But something unusual was on Livia's mind, something that made her nervous and excited at the same time: she had agreed to go on a date with Jonas.
The idea had been hanging in the air for some time, ever since Jonas had confessed his feelings and Livia had decided to take things slow. They had remained close friends, spending time together and supporting each other through the ups and downs of school life. But there was always a subtle undercurrent between them, an unspoken question of what they were becoming. Finally, after weeks of thought and encouragement from her friends, Livia had agreed to go on an official date. It wasn't a casual outing like the ones they usually shared; this time, it felt different.
Jonas had planned everything. He had texted her the night before with the details: a day out in a nearby town called Sunnavik, known for its beautiful old town streets and scenic waterfront. It wasn't too far from GIA, but it was far enough that it felt like a break from the usual surroundings. Livia had smiled at the thought of it. Jonas had always been thoughtful and considerate, and the idea of getting away from school, even just for a day, sounded perfect.
The morning of the date, Livia woke up earlier than usual, a mixture of excitement and nervousness swirling in her stomach. She stood in front of her closet for what felt like an eternity, trying to figure out what to wear. Sophie had already given her plenty of advice, telling her to be herself and not overthink it, but Livia couldn't help it. She wanted to look nice, but not like she was trying too hard.
Finally, she settled on a soft lavender sundress with a flowing skirt that felt comfortable and light. She paired it with a denim jacket and simple sandals, a look that was both casual and pretty. After a quick glance in the mirror, she decided on leaving her hair down in soft waves and applied just a hint of makeup to brighten her face. With a final deep breath, she grabbed her bag and headed out.
Jonas was already waiting at the school's entrance when Livia arrived. He stood leaning against a sleek, black car—a rental he'd borrowed for the day—with his hands in his pockets, looking effortlessly cool in a simple white shirt and dark jeans. His smile lit up when he saw her approaching.
"Wow, you look... amazing," he said, his voice filled with genuine admiration.
Livia blushed slightly and smiled, feeling her nerves melt a little. "Thanks. You don't look so bad yourself."
Jonas chuckled, opening the car door for her with a playful bow. "Your chariot awaits, my lady."
Livia laughed and stepped into the car, her nerves now turning into a bubbling excitement. As Jonas slid into the driver's seat and started the engine, he glanced at her with a grin. "Ready for a day of adventure?"
"Absolutely," she replied, settling into her seat and feeling a surge of anticipation as they pulled out of the school grounds and onto the open road.
The drive to Sunnavik was beautiful. The late morning sun filtered through the trees lining the highway, casting a golden glow over the landscape. The radio played softly in the background, and for a while, they drove in companionable silence, simply enjoying each other's company. Occasionally, Jonas would point out something along the way—a funny sign, a beautiful view—and they would share a laugh or a comment, but for the most part, it was a comfortable, easy silence.
When they arrived in Sunnavik, Livia was immediately charmed by the quaintness of the town. The streets were lined with cobblestone, and the buildings had an old-world charm with their painted shutters and flower boxes hanging from the windows. It felt like they had stepped into a postcard.
