As the weeks passed after their magical day out in Sunnavik, something shifted between Jonas and Livia. They had always been close, sharing a connection that felt deep and unspoken, but now, that bond was growing in a new direction—one that neither of them could ignore.
Livia had been unsure about where things might lead after their date. It had been perfect in so many ways, and while she was happy to explore what was happening between them, she had also been cautious. After all, with graduation approaching and their futures uncertain, starting something serious felt risky. But Jonas, ever the bold and steady force in her life, seemed unbothered by the ticking clock. He showed her, through his actions, that he wasn't going anywhere. If anything, he was more present than ever.
It began with small, thoughtful gestures. Jonas had always been kind and attentive, but now, there was a new layer to his interactions with her—one that was undeniably romantic.
One afternoon, Livia was sitting in the school library, working on an essay for her literature class. The library was her favorite place on campus, with its tall wooden shelves and sun-drenched reading nooks. It was peaceful, and she often found solace in its quiet atmosphere.
She was deep in thought, trying to make sense of a complicated passage from one of the novels they were studying, when a shadow fell over her desk. Looking up, she saw Jonas standing there, a soft smile playing on his lips.
"Hey, I brought you something," he said, holding out a small cup of coffee.
Livia blinked, surprised but grateful. "You didn't have to do that," she said, taking the cup from him.
Jonas shrugged, his smile widening. "I know. But I thought you could use a break."
Livia felt a warmth spread through her chest. It was such a simple gesture, but the fact that Jonas had gone out of his way to bring her coffee while she was studying made her feel special. She took a sip, savoring the familiar taste, and smiled up at him.
"Thanks. This is exactly what I needed."
Jonas pulled out the chair next to her and sat down, his eyes twinkling. "So, what's got you buried in books today?"
Livia sighed, glancing down at her notes. "Just trying to figure out this essay. It's not going well."
"Want some help?" he offered, leaning in slightly as if he were ready to dive into the topic with her.
She smiled, shaking her head. "You're sweet, but I think I've got this. Just need to focus."
Jonas gave her a playful look. "Alright, Miss Independent. I'll leave you to it. But if you need me, I'm just a text away."
Before leaving, he reached out and gently squeezed her hand, a brief but meaningful gesture that made her heart flutter. It was the kind of touch that said more than words ever could—an unspoken promise that he was there for her, even in the little moments.
Over the following days, similar moments became more frequent. Jonas would meet her after class, waiting for her outside the building with a grin on his face, or he'd save her a seat in the cafeteria, waving her over as soon as she entered. It wasn't just the grand gestures that stood out—it was the consistency, the little ways he showed he cared that made her heart race.
One particularly memorable day, Jonas surprised her with a thoughtful, romantic gesture that caught her completely off guard. Livia had been walking back to her dorm after a long day of classes, her mind focused on an upcoming exam, when she noticed something unusual in the courtyard.
There, in the middle of the campus green, was a blanket spread out on the grass. And sitting on it, surrounded by a small picnic spread, was Jonas.
Livia stopped in her tracks, blinking in surprise. "Jonas? What is this?"
