Her shirt is damp with my tears. God. She really does affect me that much. She'll have a boy. I hope he looks just like her. I hope that he doesn't inherit anything from the bastard that left her. Whoever it is, he won't get past me.
I kiss her forehead, feeling a pang of happiness for her. I'm glad she'll get to experience this, but I can't help but also feel a pang of jealousy.
This...Jamie could've been Jenna. No, this is enough. I need to move on. Jenna died. I have Jamie now. But Jamie and I are friends... Jenna and I were married. About to have a child. She died before getting to find out the gender.
I sigh at that thought, still holding Jamie in an embrace. My fingers tangled in hely running through it. My other hand on her back rubbing it in circles motion soothingly.
"Jamie, congratulations." I whisper in her ear.
"Thank you. I can't even believe it right now."
"You'll be an amazing mom, you know?"
"I hope so."
"Jamie, I know so. You were great with Ruby."
"True." She reluctantly agrees.

Walking through the halls of the hospital when suddenly my phone buzzes in my pocket. I pull it out to read the notification
I'm going in labor ~J
I drop all the papers and files I'm carrying. I kneel down and rush, picking the scattered papers up.
I stand back up and speed walk to my office. I enter and hand the files to Madison, then scurry on out and head to the emergency room.
"Yes, hey, Jamie Scott is in labor right now."
"Doctor Noah, we know, but we don't allow anyone who isn't related to her in some way."
"No, no, I'm related to her."
"How so?"
"She's my girlfriend. Soon to be fiance." I make something up to let me in. She steps aside and scans her ID over the scanner. The door opens once she scans it. I step in and hurry to Jamie's side.
I hold Jamie's hand through it all. Not leaving a second. Her screaming ringing through my ears, but I keep reassuring her with nothing but sweet words.
She collapses on the bed once she's done. I smile to her. She smiles back. Even after all this, she looks like the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.
The nurse comes back after a few moments and hands a bundle of joy. Jamie cradles him in her arms. I look at them both. Jamie still holding my hand, but now that hand had traveled to be support for her and for her little miracle.
"What are you gonna name him?" I ask gently.
"Harry." She whispers. I smile. The name rolled off her tongue perfectly.
"Harry." I repeat it. I look down at Harry. "He has your eyes." I observe. She smiles. A tear drops from her eyes. I bring my other hand and wipe it away.
_____________
We decided to go shopping for her 1 month old son, Harry. Jamie is wearing a simple black set with a blue cardigan, which matches her eyes exactly.
We buy a few clothes for Harry. I take Harry from her hands while she shops peacefully. J follow her, like a dog, but who cares? As long as she's happy, I'm happy.
We check out. I pay since I insisted and then head to the food court because both of us are starving. We take a seat in a little table that fits us well. Suddenly, I feel a voice from behind me.
"Jamie?" A deep voice calls out from behind me. I look at Jamie. Her eyes widened. I turn around and look at the guy. He looks like a douch him and the girl he's with. His gaze falls to Harry.
"That...youre...him?" He asks. Jamie bites her lip and nods. "Jamie quit lying."
"I'm not." She clears her throat, her voice shaky. He walks closer and takes a good look at Harry. His mouth opens widely.
"Jamie...the kid...looks like me." Jamie lets out a shaky breath. "He's mine, isn't he?" Jamie looks down. That's the answer he needed. He'll connect the dots.
"Why the hell didn't you tell me?"
"You don't get to do this, Jake. You cheated. With my best friend."
"I still have a right to know I have a son." He raises his hand as if to hit. I immediately stand up and back him up against the wall.
"Stay away. I find out you're near Jamie or Harry. I'll kill you." I threaten him.
"Aren't you a doctor?" He scoffs
"Then I'll smack your head with all my equipment." I say my voice sharp.
"Who needs a stupid girl anyway? She's terrible in bed." He says. I've had it. I connect my fist with his jaw.
"What are you her boyfriend?" He scoffs, holding his jaw where my fist connected.
"Future husband." I correct even though Jamie and I are nothing but friends. "And I assure you. I'll treat Jamie like the queen she is. Unlike you."
"I'll sue you. I want custody for the child."
"And who might you think is the judge?" I ask.
"Who?" He says
"Jamie." I simply says "You idiot. you sue a judge, really?" I scoff .Oh honey, you've got it all wrong if you think you'll win." I clench my fists ready to hit him, but then I suddenly feel tiny hands on my bicep holding me back.
"Jamie, are you dating this guy?" Jamie looks up at him and nods. "Prove it."
"I don't need to prove anything to you." She says. We aren't dating, but I can't help but think what it would be like.
