In the Ghost's common area, Aurelian, Sabine, Kanan, Ezra, and Ahsoka were enjoying a nice meal while discussing the current state of affairs in their battle against the Empire. As of now, Ezra was listening to old war stories from Kanan and Ahsoka about the Clone Wars.

"So, what was it like? Fighting in the war?" Ezra asked.

Kanan hummed in thought as he responded, "It was difficult. Going from peacekeeper to commander, but in the end I thought I was fighting to restore peace to the galaxy. Guess it was all for nothing when the Empire took power."

"It's hard to believe how a thousand years of democracy fell in an instant." Sabine added.

Aurelian spoke up, having his own thoughts on the situation. "Actually, by looking at historical and political evidence, it is quite intriguing to discover the circumstances that lead to the rise of the Empire."

"What do you mean by that?" Ahsoka asked.

In an instant Ezra tried to stop what was happening, "No, not again–"

"I'm glad you asked, Ahsoka." the prince cleared his throat before continuing. "To properly understand the transition from the Republic to the Galactic Empire, we must take a deep dive into contemporary galactic history."

"Oh Aurelian, you know you can take a deep dive with me anytime." Sabine flirted.

"Duly noted," he replied. "It is my belief that Sheev Palpatine is in fact a Sith Lord who used well-placed connections and manipulation to transition the Republic into the Empire."

"You mean to tell me that the Chancellor of the Republic was a Sith lord and the Jedi just never noticed?" Kanan questioned. "How?"

"I imagine it was a mix of Sith techniques and Jedi arrogance. To begin, let us examine the events leading up to Emperor Palpatine's eventual rise to power. The Blockade of Naboo–"

"Are we seriously skipping over the Sith Lord thing?"

"-A pivotal moment in our story as the fallout of the event gave rise to Palpatine's tenure as Supreme Chancellor. To summarize the event, a Trade Federation fleet blockaded Naboo under the command of Viceroy Nute Gunray in an effort to force Queen Padme Amidala, nee Naberrie, to concede control of her planet's plasma refineries to the Trade Federation. Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his student, Obi-Wan Kenobi rescued and brought Queen Amidala to Coruscant so she may enlist the aid of the Republic."

"Wait, isn't that ISB girl named Naomi Naberrie?" Ezra asked.

Aurelian ignored the boy. "It is my belief that Senator Palpatine orchestrated the planet Naboo to be invaded by a foreign threat to set the stage for his election as Chancellor."

"I have two planets that be... open to a foreign threat~."

"Oh, then you may want to see a doctor. That could be an immunity issue." Aurelian replied, missing the real meaning of Sabine's words.

"No that's– Nevermind, you're too into... this."

"You mean my love for academia and scholarly debate? Yes indeed. Anyway, this claim is further supported by the actions of Queen Amidala who called for a vote of no confidence in Chancellor Valorum's leadership, likely under Palpatine's suggestion."
