As night descend, Ayase's residence hummed with the sound of crickets chirping in the tranquil night. While Ken was staring at the PsP console in Y/n's hands, they were enjoying some snacks inside the shack. Mostly Ken is the one munching on soft and tasty mochis while Y/n only had orange juice next to his feet. Y/n was playing his favorite game and attempting to speedrun through the level.

"How often have you played this game?" Asked Ken. He was impressed by how swiftly and skillfully Y/n moved the joysticks and tapped the buttons with his thumbs "Eh, just in my free time. This level is a real pain on my ass" Y/n replied. His thumb immediately moved the joystick, and his character in the game rolled away, evading her adversary's strike. Y/n taps the buttons, unleashing some nasty combos to the adversary, comprising six rapid jabs, two roundhouse kicks to either side of the head, and finally a soul-crushing dropkick solidly planted against the adversary's sternum.

"Sheesh, those nasty combos could've killed someone in real life!" Ken commented, awed and shaken, watching the combos constructed by Y/n against a low-level game monster "Hey, man, that was self-defense. You have the right to eradicate anyone who tries to kill you" With a casual reply, Y/n proceeded to navigate the level and work through its puzzles.

"Okay, but that might seem a bit much, wouldn't it?" Ken sweatdropped. The icy justification from Y/n sounds like a sociopathic response.

"Listen, Ken, violence is sometimes the best solution. Not everything will be resolved by peace" Y/n advised Ken, casting a quick glance at him as his character in the game ruthlessly snapped her adversary's neck.

"It's not about right or wrong, you just have to do what you have to. That is the essence of each person's survival" Y/n explains. Ken paused mid-chew and stared at Y/n, hearing Y/n's remarks felt like they came from some fantasy wizard.

'Essence, huh?' Ken reflects, recognizing that Y/n was completely correct regarding the necessity of violence and its rightful use. Despite how vicious Y/n sounds, his words seem rational.

Y/n unknowingly gives Ken the insight that every person is striving to survive whatever their ordeal, which ignites a flame of hope within Ken. At his lowest point, Ken realizes he has precious friends who are willing to put their lives at risk for him.

"You know how cool you sounded sometimes?" Ken marveled "Really?" Y/n heaved a brief chuckle at Ken's unexpected praise. As Y/n heard Ken highlight his words, his pride also grew.

Momo grinned as she stood at her front door, her hand crossed and her body leaning on the door frame. Momo watched the exchange between Ken and Y/n with amusement, a fond smile playing at the corners of her mouth. She felt pleased to see how well they got along, and she could tell their bond with the awkward fellow strengthened as they helped him through his ordeal.

But all of a sudden, Momo's heart was squeezed by a tang of guilt. Not only was Y/n cursed, but so is Ken. She felt guilty for being the reason her friends were unintentionally cursed by the places she encouraged them to visit.

"So, Turbo Granny huh?" Seiko's unexpected remark echoed behind Momo, jolting her upward and causing her hand flew over her chest "My gosh, grandma, you scared me!" Momo trembled, darting a surprised gaze at her grandmother. Unconcerned by Momo's response, Seiko casually took a drag from her cigarette and blew it aside "You definitely got your hands on another unpleasant spirit" Seiko commented stoically.

"Another?" Momo mumbles "In the past, she used to be known as "hundred kilo granny. She's a modern yokai monster who has caused havoc throughout the country" Seiko maintained a straight expression "But wait, her scheme is very similar to Beelzebub's!" Momo commented, recognition flashing in her eyes as she noticed Turbo Granny also stirring chaos.
