Den stood frozen at the mention of their grandfather, Donatello's words hanging ominously in the air. The Don of the Lombardi family, her grandfather, was known for his relentless nature, sharp judgment, and absolute control over the family empire. She could only imagine how he would react if he discovered her secret marriage to Manjiro, a man who not only led Bonten, Japan's most feared criminal syndicate but also had a past soaked in violence.

Den's heart raced as the gravity of the situation weighed on her. Donatello had every reason to be furious. She had defied their family's expectations, risking everything by marrying Manjiro. But this wasn't about family expectations anymore—this was about love, loyalty, and survival. Her mind flashed back to Emma, who was waiting innocently in the other room, and the stakes of this conversation rose even higher.

Donatello's dark eyes flashed with fury as he stood there, towering over Manjiro, who had yet to retaliate. The punch had left a bruise already forming on his jaw, but Manjiro didn't flinch. He accepted the blow as if it were part of his penance.

"You have no idea what you've done, Denise Lombardi," Donatello growled, pacing back and forth. His frustration was palpable, each step echoing his inner turmoil. "Our family is known throughout the world, not just for our legitimate business but for the respect we command. We're feared, yes, but we have our limits. We have honor. And now, you expect me to just accept that you've married the head of Bonten? The most wanted criminal in Japan?" The man yelled sighing as he massaged his temple in an attempt to calm himself done.

Den tried to speak, but Donatello wasn't finished. He turned sharply toward Manjiro again, his fists clenched. "You, Manjiro, are everything we despise. You're reckless and violent, and you've brought shame to my sister's name just by standing next to her!"

Den stepped between them again, her body tense as she shielded Manjiro. "Don, please, stop! You don't understand. Manjiro is different. He's different!"

Donatello's eyes narrowed dangerously at her words. "Different?" His voice was barely above a whisper, but the weight of those words sent a chill through the room. "How naive of you dear sister." He paused, chuckling a bit at how gullible the woman in front of him sounded. "What about the child? Is Emma his? Is that child really adopted or from the two of you?" The man asked, thinking that the child looked a little over 4 to 6 years old. Looking back at the timeline when Den first came to Japan, which was a little over 5 to 6 years ago. The possibilities are endless.

Den's eyes locked on Donatello. Don just stared at the two people in front of him. One is his lovely sister-like cousin and one is a man far from his expectation to be with her beautiful and one and only family.

"What? Can't answer?"

Koko and Sanzu who was watching silently got nervous. They actually have no idea how Mikey and Den answer this question. Yes, Emma is Mikey's but Den treated the child as her own too.
