Emily Bennett stared up at the towering glass building that housed Evergreen Advertising, her heart thudding with a mix of excitement and nerves. This was her first day as an account manager, a position she had worked tirelessly to achieve. Evergreen was one of the top marketing firms in the city, and being part of this team meant she was playing in the big leagues now.

Walking through the lobby, she took in the modern décor, the busy flow of people, and the sense of energy that filled the air. She adjusted her blazer and made her way to the elevator, ready to start this new chapter of her career.

The office buzzed with activity when she arrived. People were moving in and out of meeting rooms, phones ringing constantly, and conversations flowing around the open-plan space. Emily was introduced to the team by her new boss, Margaret, a sharp but approachable woman in her early forties. Among the sea of faces, one stood out—Nathan Carter, the creative director.

He wasn't the loudest person in the room, but his presence was undeniable. With sandy brown hair, sharp features, and a thoughtful expression, Nathan had an air of quiet confidence. He nodded politely when they were introduced, but his handshake lingered just a moment longer than Emily had expected.

"Welcome to the team," Nathan said, his voice calm and measured.

"Thanks," Emily replied, feeling the smallest flutter of something—though she quickly pushed it aside. After all, this was her first day. She had no time for distractions.
