As time passed, Emily began noticing the small things about Nathan—the way he focused intently when he was working, the subtle way he guided the team during brainstorm sessions, and how he always had a calm response when things went wrong. He had a way of grounding everyone around him, including her.

She also noticed how he seemed to make an effort to be around when she needed advice or a sounding board. It wasn't overt, but Nathan always seemed to be there—whether it was offering feedback on her pitches or bringing her a cup of coffee during late nights.

One morning, after a particularly chaotic client call, Emily found herself in the break room, staring into her cup of coffee, feeling completely drained. Nathan walked in, glanced at her, and wordlessly poured himself a cup.

"You okay?" he asked, leaning against the counter.

Emily sighed. "Just another day in paradise."

Nathan gave a small smile. "That bad, huh?"

"Pretty much. I'm starting to think I need a second brain just to keep up."

He chuckled softly, then after a pause, said, "You're doing great, you know."

Emily looked at him, surprised by the sincerity in his voice. "Thanks."

There was something about the way he said it that stuck with her. It wasn't just a casual reassurance—it felt genuine, like he really believed in her. And that made her chest tighten just a little.
