Not sure how to put warnings on this but a swear *Thumbs up*

Sonic's POV

What Knucks had said had even shocked me. I didn't know that there were others here but then again, I only hung out with Tails, if I wasn't messing with Shadow. I looked over to Shadow, he seemed to be taking this a lot better than everyone else. I think Amy had to run out of the room to throw up. Sally seemed to have a midlife crisis as I watched Knucks give Sage a look.

They had only spoken once before he said anything, but they seemed to know each other a lot longer than that. I mean Sage was able to understand looks from him now! She looked over to me and her hair shifted the slightest bit, a blind eye showing under her hair. My stomach dipped seeing that scar. Most times, scars were on my arms or hands, never my face.

That was the worst scar of all, and she wore it like a fucking badge.

My cheek hurt slightly but it was disappearing with my increased healing; yet another cool thing about being the demi-god of speed, almost everything is sped up. Didn't help my growing though, that was a nightmare itself.

I stared at Sage once more, trying to remember her and then something clicked. The day my father fell. There was someone with me, a brown cat.

We were playing and then we heard my mother shout, everything after that was blurry. I had woken up at my uncle Chuck's place and he was unable to contact my parents for some time so I got to relearn a lot of stuff that the fall had messed with me. I had to find out again that my father was a god and that I had a small form of memory loss, more so the few years that I couldn't remember.

I looked up again, watching Shadow again. He seemed extremely uninterested with everything, and Sage even glared at him. Sage even knew Shadow? How much does she know about me compared to what I knew of her? I glanced at my mother who was still looking over Sage like she needed to refresh some memory about her. Though thinking about it, she probably did.

I stood up and zipped right over to Shadow, putting my elbow onto his shoulder. He groaned, pushing me off and I laughed. "What's up with you, man? You're the only one who isn't freaking out"

"Well because I knew, thanks to Sage." Sage was watching us with a raised eyebrow, her ears flicking like she's listening into our conversation.

"How do you know Sage anyways? I can't place it"

"That's none of your concern, Faker, that's our past." I huffed and he rolled his eyes, giving me a half smile. "If anything, you need to speak to your cousin, she will tell you if she wants."

"Whatever, man..." He seemed uncomfortable then and Sage rolled her eye before coming over.

She crossed her arms, giving me a hard stare. "Sonic, stop pestering Shadow"

"Come on, Sage, I'm just curious on what he knows" I waved my hand, and she raised an eyebrow, looking at Shadow. He avoided eye contact with her though, for some reason.

"Ok, first- my past. It does not matter to you on what happened to me unless it's important. Second- Shadow isn't a guy." I looked at Shadow then at Sage, confusion clear on my face and she sighed, almost dramatically. "Shadows not a girl either, they don't have a gender. Shadow may not correct you, but I will. I have some grace for them" She shot a look at Shadow who grinned at her.

She gave a chuckle, batting his- their arm. I didn't even realize that I even was misgendering them. I looked down at my feet, shuffling them slightly before Sally called order to the room. I sighed again, zipping over to my mom. She clearly had watched the exchange but didn't comment on it, looking at sally.

"Ok, Knuckles, would you happen to know who is a demi-god in this room?"

"Nope" Knucks gave a shrug, sitting down and I just stared at him. For a guy knowing there were more in the room, he didn't know who exactly was? "There's too much energy for me to focus on it without the master emerald, but there might be another way"

"I can tell who's a demi-god" Sage stepped forward, her eyes turning blue for a second but that was probably a trick of the light. "I can see a person's soul and if they are a demi-god, their soul responds to it. Proving it correct." She then turned, pointing right at Rouge. "Like for example, she's one. I can't tell which since it's been suppressed for a long time."

"Me? No honey I'm not..." Rouge then trailed off, shifting her weight and something in her eyes changed. She looked at Knuckles who nodded in reply to the unasked question she was about to say.

"See?" Sage turned to the rest of us, shrugging. "Demi-gods normally awaken at age twelve if nothing stops them but it's quite clear that the demi-gods here have been stopped, for a reason. A reason in which I believe is tied to the falling"

Sage seemed to have two different trains of thought and yet she managed to jump to each one, bringing points together like she had no problem. Her eyes flashed blue again and she glanced at me. My fur was standing on end, and I could feel my energy running through me. Restlessness was a common thing for me, I had to be doing something or else the energy made it impossible to focus.

I let out a groan before zipping around the room then something tripped me, causing me to crash. Sage moved like water, catching me unexpectedly once more. She bent over me and reached into my quills. I tried to stop her as she pulled the chaos emerald out of them, but she slipped away first. The energy was almost immediately gone as I stood up. No one had even tried to stop her that time for tripping me.

"These are like energy drinks to those with power, Sonic, you should be careful on what you store in your quills." She grinned at me, handing the emerald to Cream whose eyes seemed to double in size for a second before Cream managed to tear her eyes away from it.

"Whatever" I grumbled, thankful the energy was gone but that was in case of emergencies, whenever Eggman attacked basically. I watched Sage turn to speak with Burnette, but Cream still held onto the emerald, her eyes wide still.

Emeralds were like energy drinks to demigods....it finally clicked for me; Cream, little Cream, was a demi-god! She was only twelve, yet she knew?! I looked at Sage and she met my eye. I motioned towards Cream, and she seemed to realize on how big Cream's eyes got. She quickly took the emerald from the little bunny, having to help her stay steady as she handed the emerald to my mother. Cream seemed attached to Sage, didn't know why but I almost felt.... jealous. I couldn't tell why but it was unpleasant.

Shadow chuckled behind me, and I looked at them. "Jealous, Faker?"

"Oh whatever, Shads. Like you have any room to say, I saw how jealous you were when I put my arm on Sage." Shadow growled, pulling away and something about it felt off. Didn't Shadow like Sage or did I read that wrong?

Shadow's POV

I had to pull away from faker. I swear he's one of the most oblivious guys I have ever met. I mean first he can't even tell that I don't like being called a guy, now he can't pick of the fact that I...... I didn't even know exactly what I felt for him but seeing him put his arm around Sage instead of me made me feel jealous. Rouge looked at me with a pitiful look.

I shook my head, and she sighed, shrugging. She had to use a rubber glove to pat my shoulder before going over to Knuckles, either to flirt or question. Could be both with her. I sighed and looked at Sage, something in Sage's eye when she caught mine told me that she knew something was up, the question was- what did she know?
