I woke up to knocking on the door. It was sunny outside, so it was definitely passed daybreak. I heard another knock, and I slipped out my knife from under my pillow. I know enemies don't really knock but I can't really be overly safe with a new place. I quickly undid the manual lock and peeked out. It was that pink hedgehog from the night before. I believe her name was Amy. "Yes?"
"Oh! Good morning, Sage. Sally asked me to see if you needed anything for settling in" She was way to chipper for a morning. I set down my knife on the table and rubbed my eye from sleep, making sure my hair was down over my eye as well.
"No, I'm good, Cream got me some stuff." Amy nodded, understanding who I was talking about. Of course she did know, she's been here longer than me and probably knows everyone better. My fingers itched for a second and I looked at her closer than I did last night. She had this aura; I knew that, but her aura was much stronger than then. It was like nature and war had a child, she seemed powerful. "Well, do you guys have a training room? I'm itching to work on some moves"
She clapped her hands together and nodded once more. "Yes, we do have a gym. It's near the front but this place is like a maze unless you're Sonic" She laughed like she thought I wouldn't understand the joke. In truth, I did. Sonic was faster than a normal hedgehog, so he got around places pretty quick.
"If you could show me the way, which would be great" I smiled at her and she flinched. Yes, I may be a cat but I'm not totally a bad guy.
"I would be glad to show you but um, don't you want to get changed?" I looked at my clothes, they were from the night before. I didn't really own that many different outfits, so I didn't care to change into something else and get dressed into the same thing. I looked at her, tilting my head. "Oh" She squeaked that word and looked over me, mumbling to herself. "I'll be right back, why don't you get a shower?" With that she turned on her heal and ran off.
I raised my eyebrow, what in the world is she doing? Though a shower sounds nice, I've only had time to bathe in lakes or streams. I turned to the bathroom, flicking on the light. The mirror reflected me back and I flinched myself.
Truthfully, I hated how I looked. I looked so strange and foreign to my own self. I had to pull myself away from the mirror and turned to the thing called a shower. I haven't really used modern day gadgets, or even a chance to due to my life of running. Though, what was I running from?
Thats a story itself. I barely even remember my own self. I remember my name, my favorite food, but I don't know my own birthday. I have what others call memory loss, and I know what caused it, my uncle. Most don't believe it but there are gods in our world, there was once six of them. Three girls and three boys, for a long time, they had demi-gods or half-blood children. Then there was a war, the gods made a deal to not have any more but all of them broke that promise. Punishment was unfairly given to half of the gods; the goddess of beauty easily stepped down to live with her love, so did the goddess of ice but the god of balance was a different story. He tried to keep his child a secret and he fell as his punishment.
The water ran down my fur as I remembered the legends that I knew where real. The water that fell off me seemed to change shape and a tiny watery chaos emerald sat in my hand. I crushed it and turned off the shower, dirt finally gone from my fur. I toweled off and wrapped it around me, what was Amy doing anyway?
On cue, she knocked on my door and I opened it. She held a bag of clothing, and she handed it to me, not really looking since I was just in a towel. "Oh, thank you, Amy." I took the back and looked into it.
I was partly hoping that she didn't put a dress in it, and I was right, she didn't. It was a simple t-shirt and jeans, with some type of sparkly shoes. I sigh and roll my eyes. At least they were new shoes. I was quick to dress after I shut my door, sheathing my knife to my hip before I pulled open my door, Amy actually waiting for me. "Ready?"
