On Kim's first day back in the field, she's trying to focus, standing with Tim and Lucy as they question a few locals about a robbery that just happened nearby. Her body feels tense, but she brushes it off, not wanting to seem out of control.
A few blocks down, there's a party going on—loud music, people laughing. The kind of background noise she's learned to filter out. But suddenly, a confetti cannon goes off, the sharp pop echoing through the street.
Kim's heart skips. Her breath catches in her throat, and for a moment, she feels that familiar jolt of panic. Her mind flashes back to the day she was shot—her body freezes.
Her hand instinctively moves to her side, her eyes darting around, searching for the danger she thinks is there.
"Kim! Kim, hey—you're okay," Tim's voice cuts through the haze. He's at her side in an instant, his hand on her arm. "It's just confetti. You're safe."
She blinks, her breath shaky as reality seeps back in. The confetti slowly flutters down like harmless snow. She realizes the crowd is laughing, completely oblivious to her panic.
"Just confetti," she repeats, trying to ground herself. But the lump in her throat won't go away. She meets Tim's eyes—filled with concern, understanding.
"I... I think I need help," she whispers, the weight of the admission heavy but liberating. She knows now that she can't keep pushing therapy aside. Tim gently squeezes her arm, his support unspoken but solid.
"You don't have to do this alone, Kim," he says, voice soft.
She nods, knowing that she'll have to take that step sooner rather than later.

After the intense day on the field, Kim and Tim head back to Tim's house. The weight of everything that happened still lingers, but being in Tim's home brings a sense of comfort. They settle on the couch, the evening quiet except for the hum of the TV in the background.
Tim's been watching her closely, sensing the shift in her ever since the confetti cannon incident. He hands her a cup of tea, and as she takes it, her fingers brush his. The simple contact makes his heart skip. He opens his mouth, the words spilling out before he can stop them.
"I love you."
For a split second, the room seems to still. Tim freezes, realizing what he's just said. His eyes widen slightly, panic setting in. "I—uh, I didn't mean to—"
But before he can finish, Kim interrupts him with a soft, steady voice.
"I love you too."
Tim's breath catches. Her words hang between them, filling the space with something new and unspoken. He searches her face, seeing nothing but warmth and certainty. There's no hesitation. No second-guessing.
A slow smile spreads across his face. All the nerves from moments ago fade away as they sit in that shared truth, and he pulls her close, resting his forehead against hers. Neither of them needs to say anything else.

After the emotional rollercoaster of her first day back on the field and the moment she shared with Tim, Kim decides it's time to take her mom's advice. Therapy is something she's been avoiding, but after the panic attack and realizing she needs help, she knows she can't keep pushing it aside.
She schedules an appointment with a therapist recommended by her mother. On the surface, the therapist seems professional, calm, and understanding—everything Kim hoped for. The sessions feel productive, slowly allowing Kim to open up about the trauma of being shot and her unresolved childhood issues.
What Kim doesn't know is that the therapist has ulterior motives. Unbeknownst to her, this therapist is connected to Marcus Rosado, the very man who shot her. Though Marcus is locked up, he's still pulling strings from behind bars, and his reach extends further than Kim could imagine. The therapist subtly manipulates the sessions, steering conversations in ways that could benefit Marcus later on.
Kim starts to feel uneasy at times during the therapy, like something's off, but she brushes it aside, thinking it's just her own trust issues. Little does she know, she's walking into a dangerous game—one orchestrated by the man who's not finished with her yet.
