It has been days since the recent badger attack. The wounds are mostly healed, and even Rainclaw was doing better. At least enough where i could give him herbs. I headed back into camp from collecting herbs my mouth full of marigold. I padded to the back of my den, and restocked the marigold. Then i went to check on Rainclaw. but as i sniffed his body i noticed that he wasn't breathing. i pressed my head to his chest looking for the familiare beat of a healthy heart. but all i heard was my own breathing. stepping back i couldnt believe what happened. Rainclaw was dead. i stumbled out of my den to Willowstar's den. i padded into her den and Willowstar was there sharing a rabbit with Gorseclaw. "Rosefur... whats wrong?" Willowstar asked looking worried. "Just come with me both of you." i meowed keeping my voice level. they followed me out of the den. as we padded across the clearing i saw Petalnose watching some of the apprentices play fight. i beckoned her with my tail. She bounded over looking confused. "Whats going on." she mewed. i didn't answer. when we made it to the entrance i quickly padded inside. the three other cats followed. once they were inside i showed them Rainclaws body. "He's dead." i mewed quietly. "No! No!" Willowstar wailed. She sprinted over to his side and laid down. While Petalnose stayed back, pressed against Gorseclaw, with her head bowed in grief. Willowstar began shaking Rainclaws body. "Come on Rainclaw wake up! Wake up!" She wailed. We sat there in silence when all of a sudden, a loud gasp cut through the air. looking around i realized the gasp had come from Rainclaw! "Oh my StarClan! Thank StarClan your okay!" Willowstar's shrieks of happiness came out nonstop. Gorseclaw and Petalnose sprang forward and gathered around him. A few moments later I joined them. "Thank StarClan your alright." I mewed quietly. then i began to groom his head. Then i stepped out of the den and looked at the moon. as i stared everything around me blurred until all i could see was the moon. then a voice rang in my ears. "Moon will become Sun and Sun will become Moon." then the world around me came back into view. I took a gasp of breath, not realizing i was holding my breath. "Are you alright?" i Berrypelt behind me. "im okay its nothing important." I mewed. Berrypelt nodded and padded inside. But what if it was important?
