"Today's the day." I whispered to myself. Willowstar had just called a clan meeting to make the three kits apprentices. "Hootkit step forward." Willowstar commanded. Proudly, Hootkit got to his paws and padded up to Willowstar. "Bumbletail as well." She added. Looking surprised she quickly padded up and sat behind Hootkit. "Bumbletail, your brave loyal, and a great hunter. Do you promise to pass on everything Hootkit needs to learn to become a warrior?" She mewed the familiar words of an apprentice ceremony. Shifting uncomfortably on her paws she answered. "Then from this day forward until you are a warrior, Hootkit shall be known a Hootpaw!" She announced cheers erupted from the clan. And the ceremony went on and Creakkit became Creakpaw, and Moonkit became Moonpaw. After the ceremony ended the clan cheered the newly named apprentices. "Creakpaw! Hootpaw! Moonpaw!" I went up to her so I could pull her away, but just as I was about to she slipped from the group and bounded to the nursery. Confused and suspicious I followed her. I entered the nursery just in time to see her slip through a hole at the back of the nursery. I struggled through the tiny hole and as quiet as a snake I followed. Luckily the wind was blowing towards me so she wouldn't be able to scent me. Then the ThunderClan border came into sight. Please don't do what I think your doing Moonpaw! I screeched in my head. She was about to cross the river when I finally stood up and yowled at her. "Stop!" She froze and looked at me. "What are you doing?!" I meowed. "I- I uh..." She stuttered. "I was playing on the rocks?" She lied. "Don't you dare lie to me Moonpaw!" I scolded. "What's really going on?" She thought for a moment then took a big breath. "I- I want to be a Th-ThunderClan cat." She mewed nervously. "What?" The anger I felt melted away into hurt. "Why?" I mewed. "I'm not sure why! I just feel like I don't belong here! And there's nothing you can do to change my mind!" She meowed. I sighed. "Well before you do go, I need to talk to you." I mewed sadly. Moonpaw looked at me suspiciously and sat down. "Well go on." She mewed impatiently. I explained everything. And Moonpaw only sat and stared, gaping at me. When I finished explaining, she looked solemnly at the river water. "So I'm not just Moonpaw, I- I'm also Moonstar?" She asked. I nodded. "This doesn't change my mind though." She meowed. "Well before you just waltz in there and asked to be part of their clan let me take and we can talk to the leader." I told her. She looked at me happy and slightly relieved. "Really? You would do that?" She mewed. I nodded. We both jumped from rock to rock and crossed the river. Moonpaw looked back knowing that was the last she would look at the my territory and call it home. We then headed deeper into ThunderClan territory. Walking through the the under growth of the territory suddenly felt comforting. Then I stopped, and a voice sounded in my head, it was Splashstar. You must stay with Moonpaw. Do not leave her side. She mewed and then it was gone. "Rosefur? Are you okay?" She mewed. "Yes Moonpaw I'm alright but I feel you won't be the only one leaving RiverClan today." I mewed and with that I padded onward.
