The Blackbird soared through the air at supersonic speed, quickly approaching their location.
"Alright X-Men, listen up! We can only assume that wherever we're going is similar to where Laura was so keep your guards up and have eachothers backs," Logan announced as they reached their destination and the Blackbird hovered in the air.
They seemed to be in some sort of farm but it looked abandoned. There were no animals, the vegetation was overgrown and the farmhouse was rotting. Logan landed the plane in the overgrown field and the heroes stepped out.
"Telepaths, see if you can feel anyone," Scott ordered and Jean, Wanda and Betsy scanned the area for something.
"I can feel something under that farmhouse," Jean said as she focused her power on that area.
"Me too but it's blurry. I can't tell exactly what it is," Wanda said as she turned off her powers. On Scott's orders, the heroes ran from the Blackbird to the farmhouse where they saw that its large double doors were locked by a single padlock.
"It's locked," Scott examined and Peter P manoeuvred through the small crowd to get to the front.
Peter P gripped onto the bottom part of the padlock and simply ripped it off, leaving the hook on the door. Spiderman pushed the doors open but as he did, his tingle went off like crazy.
"Everybody get down!" Peter P yelled as bullets started flying out of the farmhouse.
Wanda conjured a large force field of hex energy infront of them, giving Danny enough time to see where the bullets were coming from. He spotted six ceiling mounted turrets and armed himself, holding his right hand out in the shape of a gun. Danny shot two condensed spheres of NG at two of the turrets followed by Peter P webbing up two and Scott destroying the last two.
"Looks like we're in the right place," Crystal quipped
"There must be some way to get underground," Logan said as he examined the walls of the farmhouse.
"There's an elevator shaft right below us," Wada said, a fact she had deduced using her powers.
"I think I've got an idea," Scott said as he cranked up the intensity on his visor to almost the maximum.
"Scarlet, where exactly is the shaft?" Scott asked
"It's right there, right in the centre of this place," Wanda said pointing at the spot.
"Alright everybody stand back," Scott ordered and once everyone was out of the way, he fired a powerful optic blast at the ground, caving it in and revealing the hidden elevator shaft.
"looks like it goes down pretty far," Alex said and he conjured a frame around his forearm to shed some light down the dark elevator shaft.
"I can carry everyone down," Wanda stated.
"Let me go first in case there's any trouble," Ororo suggested and the rest agreed.
"I'll go with you," Crystal said and Ororo agreed. The two women dropped down the elevator shaft, each using their aerokinesis to slow down their descent. They landed on some of the rubble that had landed from the surface. So far, the area ahead of them was empty.
"I think it's safe!" Crystal yelled.
"Everyone step on," Wanda said, as she conjured a rectangular translucent red platform. Everyone walked onto it and Wanda made the construct descend with Alex using a flame around his hand as a light source.
"Surge, Quicksilver and Nightcrawler, scan ahead. We'll follow behind you," Peter ordered and the two speedsters and the teleporter complied.
"This place is eerily familiar," Danny commented as he and Peter D sprinted down the halls.
