______________________"I missed you."
"I missed you more, Reese. It's been what? 4 days?"The younger woman's lips met the older woman's in a gentle caress. Solace was found in the other's body as the warmth of their embrace enclosed them. There was a gentle rhythm to their heartbeat.
"Let's go to my place." The younger woman whispered.
"Sure."
With their love driving them into a passionate kiss, the older woman followed the younger one to her condo. The emotion between her and Reese was too intense for Leon to hesitate, even though she knew someone had been waiting for her at home.
The disgrace faded as Leon sought comfort in the younger woman's embrace, and in its stead was a love that seemed right in spite of the situation. For now, that was all that really mattered, so they savored the joy of being together while savoring the stolen moments.
The morning sunlight filtered through the window, brightening the room and gently touching Reese's face. She slowly opened her eyes, squinting against the glare, and scanned the space beside her, searching for Leon.
"Good Morning?"
As soon as Reese found Leon cooking in the kitchen, her heart felt at ease. She quickly drew closer to Leon, putting her arms around her from behind, helpless and unable to control her emotions. With a beautiful smile on her face, she leaned her head on Leon's back and let out a soft sigh of contentment.
"Morning.."
In that moment, nothing else mattered but the two of them. Leon was contented.. this is wrong but felt so right.. their love, and the warmth that enveloped their embrace. As Reese hugged Leon from behind, she softly asked, "What time will you leave? Baka hinahanap ka na niya.."
Leon's response, a quiet, "Give me an hour, baby.. and don't worry about him." Lingered in a short escape from the continuous flow of time, those few stolen minutes together were priceless. They found strength and comfort in their embrace, savoring their final minutes(hour) before Leon had to go. "I'm sorry, Reese."
A wave of confusion washed over Reese. "Huh? F-For what?"
"For this situation.. you don't deserve this.."
Reese let out a chuckle. "Makasama lang kita sapat na saakin, Leon.. and you said you love me too, right? That is enough.. na alam kong mahal mo rin ako. I know you won't leave me.."
"I love you."
"I love you too, baby.." Reese burried her face on the older woman's neck and hugged her tightly. "Don't worry, I'll wait for you."
When Leon walked inside her house and saw a man, Jacob, coming over with a loving gesture, her heart fell. She stood up properly, as if she hadn't been with Reese last night and only this morning.
"You're here, Hon.." However, Leon swiftly avoided her husband's attempt for a kiss, her emotions already weighed down by the secrets she concealed.
"Not now, Jacob. I'm tired," her voice revealing her exhaustion. After that, Jacob quietly acknowledged her silent request for space with an apology. Leon, overcome with sorrow and disbelief, withdrew to the comfort of their bedroom and clicked the door shut behind her.
She sighed deeply and stopped close to the closet, staring at the framed picture hanging on the wall. She and Jacob's wedding day, which was full of the promise of unending love, was captured in the picture. Now that she thought about them, the recollections were bittersweet and stood in a stark contrast to the internal struggles she was experiencing. The picture served as an indication of the life she had chosen, the promises she had made, and the guilt that now haunted her.
"Hon.." As Leon gazed at the wedding photo hanging on the wall, memories flooded her mind, their love etched in the image. Her whispered apology was a testament to the conflicting emotions within her - her love for her husband, Jacob, and the overwhelming feeling for Reese.
"I'm sorry, Jacob," she spoke softly, the words carrying both anguish and conviction. "I love you, I really do... but I love her more.. my heart belongs to Reese, and there's nothing I can do about it."
The painful reality they now faced blended together with the weight of her confession, which hovered in the air.
