Hansol sat silently in the university courtyard after the tense exchange with Seungkwan. His mind was a mess, replaying every word from their little showdown, and his chest still felt tight. What was Seungkwan's deal? He was so smug, so irritating—yet somehow, Hansol couldn't stop thinking about him. And why did that thought make his blood boil even more?
He leaned back on the bench, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, trying to calm down. But just as he was beginning to feel somewhat composed, Chan came over, carrying two cups of iced coffee and grinning like he had just witnessed the best drama of the year.
"Bro," Chan said, handing Hansol a cup, "that was wild. I've never seen someone get under your skin like that. Seungkwan's a genius."
Hansol rolled his eyes, taking the drink but not saying anything. He really didn't want to talk about Seungkwan anymore. Not now.
"Come on, admit it," Chan pressed, sitting beside him and slurping obnoxiously from his straw. "You're totally into him. Why else would you get so riled up?"
"I'm not into him," Hansol snapped, his patience wearing thin. "He just—he just gets on my nerves, okay? There's a difference."
Chan raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. "Uh-huh. Sure, 'just on your nerves.' You don't get this worked up over anyone else. You've been staring at him like he's the only person in the room for weeks. And don't think I didn't see you watching him with Moonbin. You looked like you wanted to punch the guy."
Hansol groaned, rubbing his forehead in frustration. "I don't know what you're talking about. He's just... loud. And annoying. That's it."
"Right, 'loud and annoying.' Yet you're thinking about him 24/7. Dude, you're in denial," Chan said, shaking his head. "I mean, who breaks a guitar string just because they're 'not thinking about' someone?"
Hansol shot him a glare. "That was an accident."
"Yeah, right," Chan said, smirking. "You're totally jealous of Moonbin. Admit it."
Hansol wanted to deny it. He wanted to say Chan was wrong, that Seungkwan was just some annoying classmate he couldn't stand. But as the seconds ticked by, he realized that wasn't entirely true. He was jealous of Moonbin. Not just because Seungkwan seemed to be enjoying his company more than anyone else, but because... well, Hansol didn't want to admit why.
The thought made his stomach twist.
"Whatever," Hansol muttered, taking a long sip of his iced coffee. "It's not like it matters anyway. Seungkwan's just... Seungkwan."
Chan gave him a knowing look, and Hansol quickly stood up, ready to end the conversation. "I've got class. I'll see you later."
"Yeah, sure, run away from your feelings!" Chan called after him, laughing. "But sooner or later, you're gonna have to face the truth!"
Hansol ignored him, walking briskly toward his next lecture. He was definitely not thinking about Seungkwan. Definitely not.
Meanwhile, Seungkwan and Moonbin were sitting at their favorite campus café, laughing over something trivial. Seungkwan was in an unusually good mood, despite the earlier tension with Hansol. In fact, he felt a strange thrill from their confrontation. It was fun, pushing Hansol's buttons like that.
"What's with you today?" Moonbin asked, eyeing Seungkwan curiously. "You seem extra chipper after that argument."
Seungkwan shrugged, sipping his iced tea. "I don't know. Maybe it's just fun to mess with him. He's so serious all the time—someone's gotta take him down a notch."
