As the familiar sights of Seoul came into view, Seungcheol, Jeonghan, Chan, and Hansol finally felt the weight of their journey from New York settle over them. The long flight back had been thick with unspoken emotions, each of them quietly processing the turmoil of the past few days. Hansol had spent most of the flight staring out the window, his thoughts a tangled mess, barely daring to imagine a way forward. But as they stepped back into the comfort of home, the presence of his brother, Jeonghan, and Chan surrounding him, he felt the faintest spark of hope.
In the stillness of the infamous Midnight mansion, with the city lights dimming outside, Seungcheol gently guided Hansol aside. Jeonghan and Chan moved quietly around them, giving the two brothers space but staying nearby as a silent support.
Seungcheol looked at Hansol with an expression that was both thoughtful and determined. "Hansol," he began, voice low and steady. "I've been thinking a lot about everything that happened, about you and Seungkwan. I know things got really messy...maybe more than we ever thought they could. But I think..." He took a deep breath, steadying himself. "I think there's a way to make things right, and I want to help you do it."
Hansol's shoulders slumped under the weight of everything unsaid. He had been carrying his mistakes, his guilt, and the pain of losing Seungkwan like an anchor dragging him down. Now, hearing Seungcheol offer him a way forward—an ally in fixing the broken pieces—felt almost surreal. "Hyung," he whispered, his voice heavy, "I don't even know if he'll listen to me. I kept this huge part of myself hidden, and now... it's all out there in the worst way. Sungmin probably hates me, and I wouldn't blame Seungkwan if he did too."
Seungcheol's expression softened, and he placed a reassuring hand on Hansol's shoulder. "You've made mistakes, Hansol, but that doesn't mean it's over. Seungkwan's not just anyone to you; he's someone who made you feel complete. That doesn't just go away overnight. I think if Sungmin sees that you're serious, that you genuinely want to make things right with Seungkwan... maybe he'll understand."
Hansol swallowed hard, searching Seungcheol's eyes. His brother had always been the strong one, the steady presence Hansol looked up to, even when they disagreed. "You'd really help me do this? After everything? I thought you were... I thought you were mad too."
Seungcheol smiled faintly, his eyes reflecting a mix of stern resolve and warmth. "I was mad, Hansol. And if I'm being honest, part of me still is. But you're my brother. You love Seungkwan, and that's worth fighting for. If there's even a small chance to mend things, we're going to try."
Hearing the certainty in Seungcheol's voice made something inside Hansol start to heal. He felt the knot of despair loosen, replaced by a fragile hope he hadn't dared feel before. In one swift motion, he stepped forward and pulled Seungcheol into a hug, clinging to him as if he were his lifeline. All the pent-up guilt and longing seemed to pour out, and Seungcheol's embrace was steady and grounding, conveying all the support and forgiveness he hadn't known he needed.
Standing a few steps away, Jeonghan watched the brothers with a soft smile. There was a deep warmth in his gaze as he took in the sight, admiring Seungcheol's quiet strength and the way he was willing to go to such lengths for Hansol. His heart swelled with pride and affection for his boyfriend, and he made a mental note to tell Seungcheol later just how much he admired him.
As Hansol pulled back, he caught Jeonghan's gaze, and for the first time in days, a genuine smile touched his face. Jeonghan gave him an encouraging nod, stepping forward to place a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "This isn't just about mistakes, Hansol. It's about the love you have for Seungkwan. Sometimes, love takes a harder path, and that's okay. The important thing is that you're willing to fight for it."
Hansol nodded, his heart feeling a little lighter, and for the first time in days, he dared to think that maybe—just maybe—there was a way forward. "Thank you, Jeonghan-hyung," he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. "You've...you've been there for me more than I deserve."
