As the night carried on, the atmosphere inside the room was filled with laughter and love, with everyone savoring the joyous occasion. The soft clinks of glasses and plates, the hum of familiar voices, and the gentle glow of candlelight created a moment of pure serenity. Jeonghan had just made a joke about Jihoon's blushing face, and Seungcheol was about to lean over to say something witty in return when the sound of the door slamming open silenced the entire room.
Everyone froze, eyes darting toward the entrance. Standing there, framed by the doorway, was Boo Sungmin, a high-ranking CBI officer, his face cold and unreadable. The tension in the room immediately thickened, like a storm cloud rolling in without warning.
Sungmin's eyes scanned the room, his gaze landing squarely on Seungcheol. Without hesitation, he strode forward, his presence radiating an unsettling calm. The gang members watched him, some standing instinctively, ready for anything. But nothing could have prepared them for what came next.
In one swift motion, Sungmin pulled out a gun, aiming it directly at Seungcheol's head. The room erupted into gasps, but no one moved. The air grew still, as if time itself had frozen.
"Choi Seungcheol," Sungmin said, his voice cutting through the silence like a blade. "Your brother, Hansol... he's crossed the line."
Seungcheol's eyes widened in shock, his body tensing. He didn't flinch at the gun pressed to his temple, but confusion and dread flooded his features. "What are you talking about? Hansol—what did he do?"
Sungmin's face remained expressionless. "You don't need to know the details yet. All you need to understand is that your brother's actions have consequences. And now, those consequences are coming for you."
The words hung in the air, heavy and filled with menace. No one dared to speak, not even Jeonghan, who had already shifted protectively toward Seungcheol. Soonyoung and Jihoon exchanged worried glances, while Seokmin tightened his grip on Joshua's hand.
Joshua's heart raced in his chest as he stared at the scene unfolding before him. He could feel Seokmin's grip on his arm tighten, but his mind was spinning, his thoughts flashing to Hansol, to what could have possibly gone wrong.
"What line?" Seungcheol demanded, his voice steady despite the danger. "What has Hansol done?"
The festive air in the room quickly dissipated as Sungmin's words took hold. The warmth and laughter from just moments ago felt like a distant memory as everyone tried to process what was happening. Sungmin's expression was unreadable, but his eyes held a searing intensity that made everyone too scared to move or speak. The gun stayed aimed at Seungcheol, its dark barrel cold and menacing.
"Your little brother," Sungmin started, his voice laced with disdain, "is tangled up in something far darker than even you understand. Midnight Gang may have its sins, but Hansol? He's a step into a whole new level of danger. And you let him fall into it."
Seungcheol's heart pounded, the realization washing over him like ice water. "What are you talking about?" he said, his voice barely steady as he tried to meet Sungmin's gaze without flinching. "Hansol... he wouldn't do anything to risk our family."
Sungmin laughed, a sharp, mocking sound. "Your family? Do you have any idea who your brother really is to me? To Seungkwan?" He gestured wildly, his anger seething just under the surface. "Hansol has infiltrated my life, my family, in ways I never anticipated."
Everyone in the room was silent, barely breathing. Sungmin took a step forward, the gun still trained on Seungcheol. "You think you can keep playing house, pretending everything's fine, while Hansol is out there pulling Seungkwan into this mess?" His tone grew harsher, more dangerous. "I found out about Hansol's ties to the Midnight Gang because of Seungkwan's own words. He's heartbroken, Seungcheol. Devastated, confused, and betrayed by the one person he trusted."
