Deepika's POV:

Holy hell, did he really just run and catch this bus?

I could barely believe my eyes as I saw Arjun squeezing his way through the crowded aisle. My heart was pounding so hard, I was sure everyone could hear it. I quickly buried my face behind my bag, pretending not to see him.

Stay angry, Deepika! Don't let him get to you!

Remember how he yelled at you in front of the whole class? Don’t fall for his antics again!

I squeezed myself closer to the window, trying to become invisible, when I heard his unmistakable voice.

"Granny, could you please move to this seat?" Arjun said politely.

No! No, no, no! He was coming to sit right next to me. The granny got up with a smile, and the next thing I knew, Arjun was sitting beside me, his breathing still heavy from that ridiculous chase.

I could feel the heat radiating off his body, and my cheeks started burning for no reason at all. Ugh, this is so embarrassing!

"So, are you planning to stay like that until your stop?" he asked, his voice teasing, his breathing still uneven.

I kept my face buried in my bag, refusing to look up. Come on, Deepika, don’t fall for that charm of his!

"I’m sorry," he said, leaning a little closer, his voice softer now. And even though I told myself to stay angry, I could feel my resolve slipping.

No! You can't just forgive him because he said sorry, Deepika!

"I shouldn’t have taken out all my stress on you. I was just so blinded by the tension from that hostel girls’ issue, and then they were saying you caused it… I wasn’t in my right mind," he said, sounding genuinely regretful.

I finally raised my head to give him the best stern look I could muster. But the second I did, he let out a small, amused chuckle.

He’s laughing? At my angry face?

I huffed dramatically and rolled my eyes. This guy!

"Okay, so who was it? Who was the one actually talking bad about the hostel girls?" I asked, trying to keep my voice stern.

"Shalini," he admitted, looking sheepish.

"Did you yell at her the same way you yelled at me?" I shot back.

"Well, yes," he said, scratching his head, but I could tell he was trying to defend himself.

"Oh really? You yelled at her in private, but you decided to humiliate me in front of the whole class? Do you even realize how everyone looked at me? And now you want to apologize in private, expecting me to forgive you just like that?" I demanded, my voice tinged with frustration.

Arjun looked at me, biting back a grin, as if my anger was some kind of joke to him. He then pulled out his phone and flashed a photo at me—the one of him kissing my cheek that one forbidden moment.

I gasped, nearly choking on air. He signaled for me to calm down as a few people turned to stare at us.

"Delete that!" I whisper-yelled, my face growing hotter by the second.

"Not until you accept my apology," he said with a playful smirk, way too confident for someone who was supposed to be apologizing.

"No! Delete that!" I said through gritted teeth, and he finally deleted the photo right in front of my eyes.

"Deepika, I am really sorry," he said again, this time more earnestly.

Just then, the granny who had moved for Arjun leaned over and joined our conversation, "Oh dear, just forgive him already! Look at how much effort he’s putting in! Fights like these are so common in relationships. Don’t be so hard on your boyfriend!"
