Alright, I think I can write more about this ^^
(Still, go check out A Kingdom Named Fosia if you like stick figures...)
Couldn't find a good picture for this one so here's an angry Nightmare
Nightmare POV
Finally, I should get an opportunity to shatter those ungodly artefacts of magic. My servants, although one of the most insane and aloof of skeletons hold their home timelines and universes dear to their souls. And I cannot allow that. They can't have silly attachments to drag themselves down in a spiral of guilt and trauma.
I paced through the mushrooms on the rotting fallen tree trunks. The air smelled of freshly cut grass on a morning with a downpour. It was the golden hour. The catch was, that no normal creature could set day and night apart. Negativity taints the atmosphere. It is always dark.
Then, I suddenly felt weak. Behind me, something was happening—something positive. It was probably from the castle. I groaned and shook my head, still frowning.
They got attached to the girl, after all. They'll regret it. Fate will make them.
I kept walking and walking until the magic thrummed a pulse. But then I felt another odd sensation.
Someone was watching me.
My tentacles straightened once when I felt a figure dash behind me in the distance. Even after residing in this abandoned AU for who knows how many centuries, the woods are still utterly irritating and eerie. Not that I'm afraid. I can't be afraid. I've lost the ability to feel anything. I guess I don't mind it much since it makes getting my way through stuff easier.
I reached the portals, after a long "merry" stroll. My tentacles were uneasily swirling about. I glanced about the area before getting a hold of my extra arms and shooting them through two portals simultaneously. The portals shattered. Horrotale and Dusttale had no links to this anonymous AU anymore.
A whipping lash echoed through the trees. I stumbled onto the ground, entangled. I hissed in anger and my single cyan eye narrowed into a vertical slit. The grip was too tight. Then somebody coughed behind me and giggled like a toddler.
"Ey, the King of Negativity, ain't it? Heh."
That deep, sonorous voice was the most recognizable sound in this damned multiverse at this point. But it still was oddly different. Oddly malicious.
"Who are you? Let me out, or you'll regret your life choices." I didn't bother to turn around to grace the infernal face.
"What? Oh, come on. I thought ya knew my kind already! I mean, you're one of 'em too!" He coughed again and removed whatever was wrapped around my body in an instant.
"I'm Sans. Sans the Soulstealer skeleton. A.K.A. Dippy. Or anything you'd like to call me."
"I've never heard of you." This douchebag was another one of the Sanses. He looked a lot like the main one. The only thing weird about him was that his left eye socket was purple, yellow, and red-striped. He wore a lab coat under his blue jacket.
What was that word Cross uses for such cases? Ah, right. Cringe.
"Well, that's because I'm the new man here! Won't ya welcome me, old pal?"
"Pal? How absolutely dare you-" He dug into his pocket and threw a sticky elastic ball that sploot disgustingly over my face.
"Ah-ah-ah! Now, let's talk of business, shall we?" He summoned a table with a double clap of his palms. He plopped down on it and snapped his fingers. The bubblegum disappeared and I furiously gasped once. I glared at him. He grinned.
Then he leaned forward in a boxers' seat and eyelights disappeared and the stripes inside his eye sockets began glowing.
"Where is the Soul Redeemer?"
"The- Oh. That's what you're after. You might find it pretty easily but not take it away without a good fight." I sneered because I knew my boys don't back down once they've sworn to protect what they love. (Yes, they can do that. Except Error. Actually, he's not really interested in being one of the crew. He is a grumpy acquaintance, to say the least.)
"Oh? Is that so? Hah, well, I suppose you do have it then."
"I don't. I have no reason to keep that useless object my poor brother created just to preserve the lives of some humans."
"They ain't just some human, buddy. They're the blessed ones."
"How do you know so much-"
"-I am currently wearing a lab coat for a reason, tentacles."
"Tentacles?!-"
"Look, the point is, tell me where the holder of that tiny little crystal and we can separate our paths forever."
"What shall I gain if I told you?"
Soulstealer smirked. He snapped his phalanges again. The table disappeared as he floated an inch off the ground. He lifted his left hand and materialised my goopy, dark soul out of my chest. It felt like he drained all life out of me at that moment. I glared widely as past flashed before my eye.
I felt the negativity flood over me. The replays felt awfully real. I hissed in pain once as my build began melting.
"What do you see, Nightmare?"
"I... you..." I growled, but couldn't do much else. My soul was being stabbed a million times as I remembered my old, juvenile face. He was reminding me of how innocent I was once. How pure I was some long time ago. It hurt and stung like cold. I felt weaker. Much weaker. The air grew thicker and thicker and I found it harder to breathe. Positivity was surfacing.
I froze once I realised I was crying wide eyes.
Then, it all snapped back as I felt myself thrashing back and destroying the remaining portals in a haphazard.
"What was-"
"What? Ya think jus' because yer the King of Negativity, you are safe from hurt? Oh please, I did my research well enough."
This skeleton knew too much and it was dangerous. I stood up, rubbing my temple and hissed infuriatedly.
"So, to answer your question from earlier..."
He summoned three tiny crystal hearts that were reminiscent of that of Jill Pastora's. Except, they were broken and dim. No life, no energy, no magic. They were red, yellow and purple each.
"Loyalty. That's what you get from silly old me! Sign yourself up, and your wish is my command."
I hummed and looked around.
"Loyalty, you say?"
End of Chapter 7
Quite a short chapter I guess. Hope you enjoyed it too though!
So yes, this was my original (and hopefully NOT coincidental with any other existing) Sans AU, Soulstealer Sans or Science!Soulstealer.
