You all headed outside. What for? Well, you didn't know quite yet. However, regardless of Sensei Aizawa's invitation to quit, no one did.
What an odd thing to say
You and the rest of your class made it outside and lined up, waiting for your teacher's instructions.
"Today, we are going to do a basic assessment. I want to see how far you can throw this ball," he said, while motioning to the ball in his hand, "and how far you can throw it at the end of the year. We will use it as a way to monitor your progress." He finished.
"However. There is a catch."
You and your peers gulped.
"The person who throws it the shortest... will be kicked out of UA."
Everyone's eyes widened with fear. Except for the loud, blonde boy's eyes. He was not phased. He knew he would throw it further than anyone. You rolled your eyes at the size of his ego, secretly somewhat envious at his confidence in his abilities.
You wondered how on Earth you were going to use your quirk to launch the ball as far as physically possible, and the only idea you could think of was using your shadow tendrils. You hadn't practiced using them to throw things, obviously the thought had never crossed your mind, but now you were thinking of all the ways you could use your quirk to your advantage. You decided on using your tendrils to simply launch it.
A few people began going up, one of them being your new friend, Mina. She didn't throw it very far, considering her quirk was not helpful for this sort of thing; leading her to come whining back to you and laying her fluffy hair onto your shoulder for some comfort. You patted her head softly, telling her that it was slightly unfair because her quirk couldn't help her as much as others, but she still did well, all things considered.
Before you knew it, you were next up. You exhaled as you walked up to where you needed to be. You took the ball from your Sensei, and unleashed your wings.
Oh God, I hope they don't think I'm a freak...
You didn't bother looking back at your classmates, worried at what you might find. You heard a few slight gasps as you let your wings unfurl, but you tried to push it to the back of your mind. You tossed the ball up slightly to allow your tendrils to get a secure grip on it before securing your dominant foot behind you for stability. You leaned back, permitting your quirk to launch the ball as hard as you could.
You turned to your teacher as you checked the radar detector.
705.1.
You took a breath as you were pleased with your number, walking back to Pinky. She congratulated you as you bashfully smiled and rubbed the back of your neck awkwardly, giving her thanks.
"HAH, THAT'S NOTHING, I'LL BLOW YOU OUT OF THE WATER!" The loud blonde screeched from the other side of the line.
You just scoffed and rolled your eyes. At this rate, your eyes were going to get exhausted with all the rolling you were finding yourself doing.
He strolled up to the marker where he needed to be to throw the ball. He snatched the ball from Aizawa, preparing to launch the ball. He cast you a cocky smirk before turning back to what he was doing. He brought his arm back before hurling it as far as he possibly could, the sky lighting up with explosions. He grinned at his ability to throw the ball so far as he turned to the detector.
705.2.
"PFFT, WHO'S GONNA BLOW ME OUT OF THE WATER?" You cackled, leaning over and clutching your stomach at the unexpected burst of laughter that escaped you.
The boy growled furiously, stalking over to you, his hands causing sparks to ignite.
"Hey! Woah, Bakugo! Chill out!" Kirishima called out, rushing forward to restrain him from attempting to kill you.
Ah, so that's your name!
He glowered at you furiously, shouting curses as he continuously tried to break out of Kirishima's grasp before your teacher demanded he stop.
You and your class had a few more assessments to complete, ones that allowed Mina to actually use her quirk to her benefit. After a few hours of tiring reviews, it was over. You were absolutely sweaty, and you were pretty sure you had just made an enemy of Bakugo.
You walked back to the locker rooms with the girls, you and Mina talking about how you did in the evaluations. You did pretty good all things considering, but you surely weren't beating Iida on foot, that's for sure.
It turned out, your Sensei was not actually expelling the person that threw the ball the shortest during the assessment, he simply wanted everyone to try their very hardest.
As you entered the changing room, you took off your UA gym uniform happily, allowing yourself to relish in the cold air against your stomach as you stood in your pants and a sports bra.
Suddenly, a sharp whistle was heard throughout the changing room. You turned your head to se Mina gawking at you playfully.
"We-he-hell, hello there!" Mina giggled, staring at your stomach.
Your face flushed with embarrassment as ogled at your abs. You had been working out rigorously, not just with your quirk. You wanted to be in the best shape you could be, which resulted in you having a toned, six pack, sitting on your stomach.
"Mina!" You moaned. "Stopppp!"
"No, no, no! Seriously Tanaki, you look AMAZING! Give me your workout routine, like ASAP." She said, still in awe. "Girls, c'mere!" She called.
"Hey, wait, Mina, no-" You attempted to stop her, bashfully. You weren't used to this kind of attention, although, it didn't make you completely uncomfortable, you kind of enjoyed how good about yourself Mina was making you feel.
A few of the girls walked over, a brunette with a bob and long, side-swept bangs leading them. "What's up, Mina?" She asked. You were turned away from them in embarrassment of all the attention.
"Look at Tanaki!" She pointed as she spun you around, your face buried in your uniform that was balled into your hands.
The girls raised their eyebrows in shock at your form, admiring your hard work to your core, the brunette's cheeks flushing slightly.
"Doesn't she look smokin'?" Mina remarked.
"You look hot!" An invisible girl called from who knows where.
Your face just heated up more, not sure how to react to the spotlight that was suddenly all on you.
"Just don't let that creep Mineta see you, he'd have a hay day." A girl with purple hair and long ear lobes scorned.
"UGH! Seriously, he's such a little freak!" Mina replied.
"Who are we talking about exactly?" You wondered.
"The purple haired, wait is it hair, midget, that won't take his eyes off any of our chests for more than a second." Mina commented.
"Ew."
You and the girls continued to chat, which thankfully, you were able to learn their names, as you had meant to ask.
The rest of the school day flew by pretty uneventfully, considering the most important part of it all was class with Sensei Aizawa.
You walked to the train, having your earbuds in as usual, enjoying the beautiful scenery outside. You got home, walked through the front door, noticing your mother wasn't home.
Odd, but okay.
You made something to eat before heading upstairs to your room and bathroom, taking a relaxing, hot shower, before throwing on sweatpants and climbing into bed. You were beat. Your first day had not taken it easy on you, but you smiled at the thought of it. You had already made two new friends, and a potential enemy? You weren't sure what you any Bakugo were, yet. Nonetheless, you had an amazing first day, and you were more than excited to go back for your next.
