Merediths POV

Derek and I just had sex when his wife, Addison, walked in—someone I didn't even know existed.

"Derek, what the hell is going on?" Addison's voice was sharp, her eyes narrowed as she took in the scene.

"You just wanted to screw someone to get over being screwed, or what?" I yelled, my voice shaking with anger and hurt.

"Meredith, I am so sorry," Derek said, his voice soft, filled with regret.

"I'm leaving now, so you and your wife can continue where we stopped," I spat, my tone cold and cutting.

"Meredith, please, let me explain," he said, stepping forward.

"What is there to explain? You have a secret wife, and I'm pregnant with your child, Derek. What is wrong with you?" My voice cracked, each word laced with betrayal.

"I—You're what?" he stammered, his face contorted with shock.

"Yeah. Three weeks now," I said, tears brimming in my eyes.

"Mer... I'm so sorry." The guilt was evident on his face, spreading like a dark cloud.

"You better be," I said, turning on my heel and walking out.

He reached for me, but I knew Addison had probably stopped him. When I got to my car, there was no sign of him behind me. I sank into the driver's seat, sobbing uncontrollably as my shoulders shook.

I had been working nonstop for the past week, pushing myself to exhaustion. Whenever I saw Derek in the last two weeks, I avoided him, but today I couldn't. We were scheduled to scrub in on a surgery together.

"Can we please talk, Meredith?" His voice was tight as soon as I walked into the scrub room.

"Fine. You have five minutes," I said, my voice hesitant but firm.

"Look, I didn't mean to hurt you, and I rea—"

I cut him off. "Are you going to leave her?" I asked, my voice raw with emotion.

"What do you mean?"

"Are you serious? I asked if you're going to leave her."

"Meredith... I've been married to her for eleven years. That's a long time to just walk away."

"Fine. Do whatever you want, but this child is going to be mine, and you will never be a father to it," I said, my voice cold and resolute.

"I have—"

"Shut up," I interrupted, cutting him off again.

A few hours later, I couldn't find Derek. We were supposed to check up on our patient together, but he was nowhere to be found. I asked around, and Dr. Webber told me he'd left to go back to his wife. The words hit me like a physical blow. I ran to the nearest on-call room, gasping for breath as tears streamed down my face.

Alex came in a moment later, his eyes wide with concern. "Mer, what's going on?" He reached out to help me as I struggled to catch my breath.

I couldn't answer, my chest rising and falling in erratic waves. He guided me to sit down, rubbing my back until my breathing steadied.

"What happened, Mer? I've never seen you like this before."

"I'm pregnant, and Derek... he left with his wife," I whispered, the pain spilling out in a fresh wave of tears.

"I'm so sorry, Mer. But I'm here for you, okay?" Alex said, his voice steady and comforting.

I nodded, the weight of his words settling over me as I let myself lean on him, if only for a moment.
