Leah:
'Morning" I said to Ellie who was to my surprise here before me and lying on a medical bed waiting for the medics to arrive

"Goedenmorgen" she said

"How you feeling?" I asked placing myself on the medical bed next to her

"Alright, could be better, still feel slightly sick but headache has gone, yourself?"

"Good actually, feel normal"

"That's good!"

The medic then walked in

"Morning Eleanora, morning Leah"

We both said morning back and she decided to start with Ellie

"So Eleanora, how have you been feeling?" The medic asked

"Alright, the headache and dizziness has gone just still feeling slightly sick and tired"

"Okay, well the tiredness would be expected after a knock to the head as your body is trying to mend its self, I am pleased that your headache and dizziness has gone, but unfortunately due to still having the symptom of nausea, we are unable to clear you to return to sport and concussion protocol is going to be put in place, as the starting day of rest yesterday, so for the next 9 days no physical activity (normally it would be 2 weeks of no sport, but due to the medical team deciding that the severity of her concussion was extremely mild they decided 10 days should be fine), and then a 10 minute run with the following progressive stages to bring you back to sport, so you should be back in full sport before the beginning of the season.

The season started on the 23nd of September and our preseason tour ran from the 10th-20th, so today is the 7th, and Ellie's first day off rest was the 6th, which means she should start her return to training on the 16th, so although she won't be playing in our 2 friendly matches she should still come to bond with the team and for her return to play as she should at least get some contact training time. I mean I might be in the same position in a minute so let's see!

"Okay thank you" Ellie said sounding kind off down

"Okay Leah how are you feeling"

"Yeah good thank you, no headache or sickness"

"Okay good, when did these symptoms stop" she asked me

"I had a slight headache when I woke up yesterday but no nausea, but it disappeared I would say around lunch time"

"Okay, so nearly 24 hours symptoms free"

"Yes"

"Well I would say you got lucky and don't seem to have concussion but we would still like to monitor your return to sport, and if you have any symptoms return/start you must come and tell us, and we will decide what we do next."

"Okay thank you"

"Right girls, your free to go" the medic said to both Ellie and myself

We both left the medical room and I shut the door behind us both

"I'm so sorry Ellie"

"It's okay, I'll still get to come on tour and get to know the team more and hopefully do some sort of training the last 4 days"

"You know, I really love you always look for a positive in what ever situation your in" I said

She stopped and looked at me "thank you Leah, I really appreciate that"

We both got caught in each others gaze again

"Right what are we going to do now, any preference" I said braking the silence shared between the gaze

"Nope, any ideas" she asked

"What about brunch" I said, whilst we carried on walking

"Brunch, what's that" she asked slightly confused

"Like in the middle of breakfast and lunch" I said, confused myself that she didn't know what that was, forgetting her first language is Dutch as her English is so good

"Ohh, laat ontbijt" she said realising

"Up for it" I asked

"Sure, late breakfast it is" she agreed giving my a slight nod

We both walked out of the training centre doors after stopping by the changing rooms to inform the girls of the news, and told them where we were going and we would be back to watch the end of their training session
