Setting: Alternate timeline where Scarlett and Tella are performers in caraval. Similar to another caraval oneshot I made called 'performers' but not related. You can read that if you want first though because it dives deeper into the details of this AU.

Ever since the day many years ago when Scarlett and her sister had joined Caraval, Julian had been in love. And although it had taken a while for Scarlett to realise it, ever since she had met Julian, she had been too.

The two performed countless Caravals together all over the world, and Julian often found it hard not to openly adore Scarlett.

Eventually Legend gave up and let them play husband and wife or some other romantically involved characters.

Julian had always prioritised his brother and Caraval over everything else, but that had changed now. Julian loved Scarlett more than anything, but that proved to be a bit of a problem for the show.

For instance, the time when Scarlett was injured by a player...

"Why hello, my lovely Crimson," Julian grinned first thing when he saw Scarlett on night 4 of Caraval.

This Caraval, they were playing two lost lovers that the players had to bring together to receive the next clue, as they both held a part of it.

"Julian," Scarlett giggled as he picked her up and spun her round in the air. "You need to leave, what if someone sees us?"

"Oh, please. They're all only just waking up."

"Well, then what are you waiting for? Kiss me."

Julian didn't wait to be asked twice.

It wasn't that he had been unhappy before Scarlett, but there was always something missing. But now, every day he spent with her was just pure happiness. It felt like a dream sometimes. Honestly, he didn't know what he had done to get so lucky.

He wove his hands into the ribbons of her dress. "One more night and then you're mine again properly."

She smiled and he kissed her forehead. "You really should be going now, though," she said, pushing her hands against his chest.

"Well, then, my lost lover. Until we meet again." He winked and she rolled her eyes, smile still on her face.

A few hours later as Julian was day-dreaming of Scarlett, two players barged into his shop.

"Hello," he began. "May I help you?"

"Cut the crap," one growled. He had a freshly cut scar across his forehead. "Give us the clue, mate."

"I'm sorry," Julian said. "I'm afraid I have no clue what you're talking about."

Guests went a bit rude sometimes with all the tricks and riddles, but these two seemed downright aggressive.

"Tell us where to find the lady of the tower," grunted the other one.

"Ah, yes," Julian said. He hated helping these two, but he had to stay in character. "I would help you, but ever since I lost the love of my life-"

"That whiny woman in the other shop? She wouldn't cooperate either. I made sure she paid for it, like you will if you keep up with these stupid riddles."

Julian froze. "What do you mean, 'she paid for it'?"

"Gave her a right old punch didn't he?" The other man snorted.

"Not just that," the other chuckled. "Her own damn fault, anyway."

"You hurt my Crimson?"

"What?"
