She looked for her key in her bag and opened the door hoping that Jamie would welcome her with his warm embrace like he usually does when he arrives home first but no one embraced her when she stepped inside.

Chapter 2
The smell of rose scented candles filled the air as she stepped inside the house. She gave a gasp of surprise when she saw a trail of rose petals leading to their bedroom. Her legs shook as she followed the trail and tried to calm her wildly beating heart.
Amy slowly opened the door to their bedroom and saw a man kneeling on one knee. Amy felt her eyes getting teary. She was overwhelmed but she was happy.
"Amy," Jamie breathed, his eyes glowing. Amy was too choked up on words that she only stared at him, not believing what is happening. "The first moment I saw you I knew that you're the one person that would complete me."
She kneeled in front of Jamie so that their foreheads were touching. She looked at his familiar eyes and felt a burst of love fill her heart.
"I love you so much that I'm ready to spend my whole life with you and build our own family." Jamie smiled. His heart was beating so fast it felt like it was about to burst in his chest but as he looked at the woman in front of him, the one woman that made him smile each and everyday, he found the courage to say the words he needed to say.
"Amy Philips, Will you marry me?"
Amy smiled as the tears fell from her cheeks. She took a deep breath and answered him. "Yes."
Jamie took a ring from his pocket and put it on her finger. It was a magical moment for the both of them. It was as if time stood still. A one carat diamond now nestled perfectly on Amy's ring finger.
"Oh, Jamie! It's beautiful." She cried happily. Amy felt like she was on cloud nine. It can't get any better than this.
"I'm glad you like it. Thank you for saying yes." Jamie kissed her tenderly.
"Thank you for proposing to me."
They spent the whole night showing one another how much they loved each other.
As they were about to sleep Amy said something that made Jamie's heart skip a beat. But for a wrong reason.
"I wonder how my Dad will react handing over his only daughter."
"You don't think he'll shoot me, do you?" Jamie gulped. Even though Jamie was a lot taller than Amy's dad, General George Philips definitely is more buff and strong seeing he used to be a soldier but now is a retired general.
"Let's hope not." Amy giggled.

Jamie was taking a deep breath in front of a mirror as he practiced the lines that he would say to Amy's father. "Sir, I would like to marry your daught- no, he would shoot me. I have to break it to him slowly." He muttered to himself. "Sir, I love your daughter and I would like to ask for your hand, I mean, her hand-" Jamie was interrupted by Amy's giggles outside the bathroom door. She had been listening for a while now and was barely able to contain her laughter.
"I didn't know it was my Dad you wanted to marry." She wheezed as she tried to control her laughter. Amy wanted say that there was nothing he should worry about. But Jamie was just too adorable. Her Dad actually likes Jamie but always act cool and indifferent when he's around but everytime Jamie's back was turned, Amy's dad would give her a look of approval.
Jamie opened the door to their bathroom and glared at his fiancee. "Not funny, Amy."
Amy smiled at him and hugged him tightly. "Everything will be fine. Don't worry." She reassured him. Slowly, she felt him relax as he took a deep breath. "Are you ready? We need to go now or we'll be late. You know how Mom gets when were late."
