The market was alive with the hum of conversation, rustling plastic bags, and the clatter of carts rolling across the tiled floor. The air smelled of fresh produce, baked bread, and the faint scent of cleaning detergent. Taehyung was in his element, casually tossing items into the basket as he flirted shamelessly with the young cashier. Her giggles punctuated the rhythmic beep of the scanner as she rang up customers ahead of him.
"Busy day?" Taehyung asked, leaning on the counter, his voice low and smooth. He flashed his signature smile, the one that made girls blush and stammer.
She giggled again, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Not too bad. But it's definitely gotten better now that you're here."
Taehyung gave her a playful wink. "Well, I'm here to brighten your day."
Meanwhile, Jimin was off in his own little world, hopping between aisles, hands full of snacks-chips, candy, and a variety of brightly packaged treats he had no intention of putting back. His eyes sparkled as he found more and more things to add to his stash. "Hyung! Look at this!" he yelled, holding up a giant bag of marshmallows as if he'd discovered buried treasure. He didn't even wait for a response before bolting off to find more.
Taehyung, momentarily distracted by Jimin's antics, waved him off. "Yeah, yeah, just put it in the cart," he called back, refocusing on the cashier. But his attention was soon pulled again, this time by an older man, grumbling under his breath as Jimin accidentally knocked a few items off a shelf.
Jimin, arms full of snacks, glared at the old man who was shaking his head in disapproval. "Kids these days," the old man muttered loud enough for Jimin to hear, "no respect, always making a mess."
Jimin's face scrunched up with indignation. He dropped the snacks onto the floor, ready for a confrontation. "What did you just say?"
The old man turned to him with a scowl. "I said you kids have no respect!"
Before the situation could escalate further, Taehyung, sensing trouble, hurried over. "Jimin, what are you doing now?" he sighed, exasperated.
"He called me disrespectful!" Jimin shot back, pointing accusingly at the old man.
Taehyung rubbed his temples. "You probably did something to annoy him, didn't you?"
"I didn't do anything!" Jimin shouted, puffing out his chest like he was ready for a fight. "He's just old and grumpy!"
With a long sigh, Taehyung dragged Jimin away from the scene, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Look, just stop causing trouble. You're gonna give me a headache."
Jimin's lower lip quivered, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. And then, before Taehyung could react, Jimin dropped to the floor, dramatic as ever, and burst into loud, wailing sobs. "You're so mean, hyung! You never take my side!" he cried, clutching at Taehyung's pants leg as if his heart was breaking.
The entire store froze. Heads turned, shoppers whispered, and the cashier looked over, wide-eyed, unsure of what to do. Taehyung stared down at the scene unfolding in horror. "Jimin!" he hissed, kneeling down next to him. "Stop crying! You're embarrassing us!"
But Jimin only cried louder, tears streaming down his flushed cheeks. "You don't love me anymore!"
Taehyung groaned, running a hand through his hair, completely mortified. "That's not true, I do love you. Just... stop making a scene!"
At that moment, J-Hope appeared at the entrance of the store, his eyes widening as he spotted the chaos. "What the hell is going on here?" he muttered, rushing over.
"He's crying because I told him not to fight with an old man," Taehyung explained quickly, his voice low as he tried to calm Jimin, who was still sobbing dramatically on the floor.
