Naruto, the 4th member of Team 7

Attack on Konoha!

"Now, the second match between Akiyama Akiko and Aburame Shino. Begin!!" 

I'm still not sure if fighting Shino is better than fighting Kankuro. I don't really know much about the Sand's puppet master jutsu, and Shino is a tough opponent. Shino was supposed to fight Kankuro first but Kankuro forfeited on his own for some weird reason. Why come all the way to the finals only to forfeit before it even started? He looked perfectly fine in the waiting area.

But I don't have the time to think about that now. I have to focus on winning. Naruto did so well against Neji, he defied everyone's expectations and won that battle. I can't lose here!

Shino's attacks are primarily long-ranged, from what I know, his taijutsu isn't too bad, but right now it's my chance! 

I moved to attack Shino first, but to my surprise, Shino closed the distance on us, intending to fight me close up instead of using his long ranged attacks. 

Clenching my fist, I swung it at Shino at the same time that he raised his to punch me. I brought up another hand and grabbed his fist, stopping his punch, he defended the same way I did. "Nice to see you here in the middle Shino, and I was just making my way towards you."

Shino remained quiet as a swarm of his insects started to crawl out from under his sleeves towards me. I quickly let go of his fist but he wouldn't let go of mine, gripping it tighter instead. Clicking my tongue in annoyance, I kicked him hard in the abdomen, sending him stumbling backwards and freeing myself in the process. I quickly jumped away from him, forced to put some distance between us, giving him his long range advantage.

I quickly looked down at myself to ensure that none of his insects had reached me yet, thankfully. That slight moment was enough time for Shino to release a larger swarm of insects from both of his hands at me. 

"Tch!" The insects are like a dark cloud that is moving fast towards me, I leap backwards even more until I'm almost reaching the edge of the arena. But the kikaichuu are fast and smart, not only are they heading towards me from the front, they are closing in on the sides as well, cutting off my path to escape.

There's too many of them, I'm going to have to reduce it's number. "Hyouton: Ice Dome!" An ice dome materializes around the kikaichuu which were heading straight for me, which are the majority, trapping them in my frozen barrier. Due to the low temperature inside the dome, I could see their movements getting slower, affected by the cold. 

"Trapping my kikaichuu won't be enough. I still have more of them." He's right, if I keep trapping his insects, I'll run out of my own chakra before he runs out of his kikaichuu. I quickly thought up of a plan, I waited until the kikaichuu were near enough before I performed the hand seals for another jutsu.

"Hyouton: Winter's breath!" A thin veil of of cold air begins to rise around me, expanding slowly, covering a wider area as it becomes thicker, like a fog. The temperature around me begins to drop dramatically, causing some ice crystals to form, giving the mist a frosty hue, like winter. The kikaichuu were unable to escape, caught right smack in the mist, like I ensured they would be. In this dense mist, not only has their visbility decreased, their movements slowed down much faster compared to those stuck in my ice dome, tiny crystals even began to form on their wings, hindering them further.

"You're... targeting my control over my kikaichuu!" I could hear Shino's voice, he must be trying to command his insects to return to him, but realize they can't. 

I have to get closer to him... I performed the hand seals for Touton jutsu (Transparency jutsu), a jutsu that Ryuji taught me to make myself invisible, he wanted to teach me the Meisaigakure no Jutsu (Camouflage jutsu), but that was too hard. My body turned invisible, and I carefully got out of the misty area without making any noise or disturbing the mist.
