Thursday was Holly's favorite day. She learned to love cooking while she was here, and on Thursdays, she got to bring all the food and sweets she learned to cook over the week to the castle and feed the staff then sit down for lunch with Ben. The two were sitting in the greenhouse enjoying their rare alone time together. There was no work to do, no event to prepare for, no gala to attend, it was just them, the flowers, and the food.

With Holly Ben was spared from the need to be a proper king, he devoured his girlfriend's cooking while she laughed. "These are so good," he moaned through a bite of chocolate lava cake.

Holly laughed, she to spared from the eyes of others and let herself laugh loudly and heartily, "I'm glad you like them. I tested these on Chad throughout the week."

"That explains why he was in such a good mood," he licked his fingers.

She gave him an amused look taking a bite herself and smiled, it was always a good day when something she made came out good. "Chads always in a good mood."

He sat up right, "yeah but he was extra happy this week. He loves chocolate and lava cake is his favorite if he could eat it every day he would. You made that happen for him for a week."

"Then he's gonna love Carlos' birthday next week. I'm making a ton of chocolate desserts."

"Right! You and Evie have been planning that for like a month now."

She nods excitedly, "Yeah. None of us ever had normal birthdays but at least we got presents to some degree. With Carlos it was hard because his mother took everything he owned, this is gonna be his best birthday yet." Her eyes sparkled with assurance, and that beautiful flame in her eyes that he loved danced with excitement.

"Anything I can do to help?"

She looked surprised, "you already ordered us the hall."

He chuckled, "I mean physically with the set up and stuff." He leaned forward, the top three buttons of his shirt undone, his sleeves rolled up, his posture relaxed, a loving smile on his face and his eyes solely trained on his girlfriend.

She thought, she thought hard because as much as she loved him thanks to his parents Ben had very limited practical skills, He didn't know how to cook to save his life, and she was pretty sure he would hurt himself if she asked him to stand on a ladder to hand the decorations. "Oh instruments! Hadie and Chole wanted to enchant some instruments to play music, but Chole is currently cut off and Hadie has no idea how mortal money works. Could you maybe rent some and help them set up."

He nodded ready to do anything for her, "yeah of course. Question: why is Chole cut off?"

"Because she has a crush on my brother, I'm 100% sure now."

Ben let out an amused laugh, "Okay run it back, explain."

"Okay so you know how Hadie recently discovered comic books?" Ben nodded. "So, he's hyper-fixated on the X-Men lately. So, Chole bought him one of the comics. The very first comic, in perfect condition packaged and everything, the next day."

Bens eyes widened, "Thats crazy expensive and that's coming from me."

"Yeah, Chad said she spent like $5,000 on it and their parents flipped when they found out."

"Yeah, I can see why," Ben actually understood Chole a lot, if Holly asked him for something that expensive, he would give it to her at the drop of a hat. The only difference was that he as using his own money, Chole was using her allowance, and he knew for a fact that her allowance was only $3,000 a week. So where on earth had she gotten the money to do that on the spot? "Did she steal part of Chad's allowance?"
