Have you ever felt...'love'?

I know that's ridiculous to ask.

Especially if it's coming from me seeing as how I've never loved someone as much as I love my late mother even if I hadn't known her long enough.

I've dated before, of course.

But, I have never understood the term 'Love'.

They say that you would know it when it comes.

That little moment where you realize you love that person.

Wether if it's when they're laughing at some stupid joke with that little quirk of theirs or sleeping under you like the giant little baby they are.

It'll leave you breathless.

Your palms will sweat, your heartbeat will pick up and your chest will swell.

...But I've never felt that special moment with any of the people that I have previously dated.

I liked them, a lot, but I could never really 'love' them.

I never knew why...

Until now.

I finally understand what this phenomenon is.

It wasn't what I had expected though.

The feeling that had me realize that I love this person, wasn't what everyone had told me.

My chest didn't 'swell'.

My palms weren't sweaty.

Nor was I breathless.

Then how did I know?

How did I come to figure that I truly love my counterpart?

How did I figure out my love for (Name)?

Well, I felt (and I still feel) warm.

It was as if in that moment, I was filled to the brim with warmth yet I had the overwhelming urge to cry and laugh at the same time.

It felt (and still will feel) like I had just won against the world and everything was right.

It felt (and forever will feel like) like I had just found the meaning of my life.

And all (Name) had to do was just pop into my office with that beautiful smile I adore, and say,

"Levi, want to have lunch together?"
