Downing the glass of water he had just poured, he drags his exhausted self up the stairs and into his awaiting bedroom. As he props himself comfortably upon his bed, he closes his droopy eyes and wraps himself in his blanket; prepared to fall asleep. Alas, being an insomniac, all he could do was just lay there on the spacey bed with closed eyes and nothing else but his thoughts occupying his ever waking mind.
At times like these where all he does is toss and turn in his physical space and mind, you would come to rescue him from this endless battle with his problems with soothing touches and whispers of sweet nothings. That obviously wasn't going to happen anymore no matter how many times he had mentally and vocally wished for it to be so.
Softly sighing a temporal defeat, Levi forces open his eyelids to stare at the ceiling above him that were strewn with those 'childish' glow-in-the-dark constellation toys you placed on about a year ago as entertainment for these type of nights. He bore hatred for them at first, for they had ruined his clean white wall, but as time passes, he grew to love them and even more so now that he's alone. This was because they reminded him of you.
He thought to get rid of it in the earlier days after it had happened, but he couldn't bring himself to. He still does miss you. That was why he couldn't bear the thought of you, or whatever that's left of you, absent from him completely. To be frank, he couldn't even get rid of your left-behind belongings, for he misses every ounce of your being so terribly that it had almost drove him to isolation. Although, never in a lifetime would he have thought or predicted that it had turned out the way it did. He didn't know if you did too—missed him—but he had a churning feeling you didn't. After all, you were the one who left him and he was the one that didn't do anything to stop that from happening.
It was warm, the night it happened, at a perfect degree where couples would sit in bed or on the couch cuddling each other to oblivion. That obviously never occurred because he wasn't even home. He was hardly ever home anymore actually ever since that new job he took had just consumed his all of his time and 99.99% of his life, but that was okay because you were a patient person and he knew that. What was not okay, was Levi not even trying to be your boyfriend anymore. As the days drag on, he would treat you more and more like his nuisance of a house guest rather than how he use to treat you — royalty.
He would come home later than ever and just dive straight into slumber right after without even giving you a second thought. His his texts and his calls became more aloof and distant than how it was before. He would spend most of his weekends submersed in his work, not even sparing you a glance and sometimes, he would be so busy that he would go days without speaking even a word to you. It was as if work was now his girlfriend, but even so, even with all the unfair treatment you got, you let him work, you let him have his space to focus, and you tried not to be a bother to him. It was fine at first because as a working person, you understood, but as weeks dragged on to months and months and months—you just lost your heart in the process.
You woke up alone, you ate alone, you showered alone, you cried alone, you got angry alone, you solved personal problems alone, you stressed about things without any comfort, you watched movies and went out on dates alone—so to speak, you did everything by yourself and it had you questioning if there was any hint of relationship left between the two of you anymore? Therefore, one last time...you tried.
