As Kenma hurriedly tossed the last of the rubbish into the bin, he heard a knock at the door. His heart jumped; it had already been twenty minutes since he invited Kuroo over. Was he really on time?

Kenma quickly brushed his hair down and adjusted his hoodie before opening the door, revealing Kuroo standing there, grinning broadly, his hands crossed.

"Hey, Kenma!" Kuroo greeted, stepping inside without waiting for an invitation. "Nice place you've got here. Very... lived in."

Kenma felt his cheeks heat slightly at the teasing. "Yeah, well, it's not a museum," he replied defensively, shutting the door behind them.

"Let's play!" Kuroo said, plopping himself down in front of the gaming console like he owned the place. He grabbed a controller and waved it in the air dramatically. "Prepare to be amazed by my skills!"

Kenma chuckled as he joined him, his nerves easing a little. "Alright, but don't say I didn't warn you. I'm pretty good at this."

The game started, and Kuroo's initial confidence quickly turned into confusion as he fumbled with the controls. He jumped at the wrong times, missed his targets, and failed spectacularly on the first few attempts.

"Wait, how do I dodge again?" Kuroo exclaimed, laughing at his own mistakes.

Kenma couldn't help but smirk. "You need to use the left joystick to move, not just mash buttons. Here, let me show you." He leaned in closer, demonstrating the controls while trying not to focus on the fact that Kuroo was practically pressed against him.

After a few rounds of coaching, Kuroo finally started to get the hang of it. With each passing minute, their banter grew more relaxed and playful, the initial awkwardness fading away.

"See? You're getting better," Kenma said, grinning as Kuroo successfully executed a complex manoeuvre. "Now, if you can just not jump off the edge this time..."

"Hey! That was a fluke!" Kuroo protested, feigning offence. "I totally meant to do that."

Kenma laughed, and for a moment, everything felt effortless and fun. The competition, the trash talk, the comfortable silence—it all made Kenma feel at ease in a way he hadn't expected.

Just as Kuroo was about to take his turn in the game, another knock echoed through the apartment.

"Who could that be?" Kenma wondered aloud, glancing at Kuroo, who simply shrugged.

He stood up, slightly puzzled, and went to answer the door. To his shock, it swung open to reveal his teammates—Yamamoto, Yaku, and Lev—standing there, grinning like they had just won a championship match.

"Hey, Kenma! We thought we'd swing by for some practice!" Yamamoto said, pushing his way inside as if he owned the place.

"Uh, I didn't know you guys were coming over," Kenma stammered, feeling the heat rise in his cheeks.

The trio walked in, glancing around the apartment and taking note of Kuroo sitting on the floor with the game console in front of him.

"Is that Kuroo?" Lev exclaimed, his eyes widening in surprise. "What's he doing here?"

Kuroo looked completely unfazed, casually leaning back against the couch with a smile. "Just hanging out with Kenma. You know, doing boyfriend things."

Kenma's eyes widened, and he shot Kuroo a sharp look. Boyfriend things?

"Nice!" Yamamoto said, nudging Yaku. "Looks like Kenma's finally got himself a real-life partner!"

"Don't you have a game to practice?" Kenma quickly retorted, trying to change the subject and avoid any further comments about his personal life.
