The atmosphere in the hotel was lively as the preparations for the upcoming event continued. Vaggie found herself caught in a whirlwind of excitement, her emotions fluctuating between joy and anxiety about her growing family. Despite the joy that Angelita brought them, she couldn't shake the stress of hiding her second pregnancy.

As Vaggie knelt down to help Angelita with her toys, the little girl giggled, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Mommy, look!" Angelita exclaimed, showing off her latest creation of mismatched blocks stacked precariously high.

"Wow, that's amazing, Angelita!" Vaggie praised, her heart swelling with love for her daughter. But just as she leaned in for a closer look, Angelita's playful spirit took a turn.

In a burst of excitement, Angelita leaped forward, her small fist flying through the air as she accidentally punched Vaggie right in the stomach.

"angelita!" Vaggie gasped, caught off guard by the unexpected hit. She doubled over slightly, a mix of surprise and light pain washing over her. "What was that for?"

"I was just trying to be strong like you!" Angelita giggled, clearly not understanding the impact of her actions.

"hon-, you can be strong without punching," Vaggie said, trying to catch her breath while also suppressing a laugh at the sheer innocence of the moment. "Just be careful, okay? Mommy's not a punching bag."

Angelita tilted her head, her expression shifting to one of concern. "Are you okay, Mommy?"

Vaggie put on a brave smile, brushing off the moment. "I'm fine, just a little surprised. No big deal!" She tousled Angelita's hair affectionately, feeling a mix of warmth and protectiveness over her daughter.

But just then, the little girl's wide eyes noticed the slight bulge of Vaggie's stomach that was becoming harder to hide. "Mommy, are you getting bigger?" she asked, her voice filled with curiosity.

Caught off guard, Vaggie felt a flush of embarrassment. "Um, it's just, you know, I ate a lot of snacks today," she stammered, desperately trying to change the subject.

"Are you having another baby?" Angelita asked bluntly, her eyes shining with excitement.

Vaggie's heart raced. "No! I mean, not yet, sweetie," she replied, feeling the weight of the secret press down on her. "I just had a big lunch, that's all!"

Angelita seemed to consider this for a moment before nodding vigorously. "Okay! Can I have a baby brother someday? I want to teach him how to play!"

"Of course! Someday," Vaggie replied, her voice tinged with affection, although a twinge of guilt stirred in her. "But for now, let's just focus on you and how awesome you are!"

"Yay!" Angelita cheered, bouncing back to her toys as if the topic had never been brought up.

As Vaggie watched her daughter play, she felt a mix of joy and anxiety. She couldn't keep this secret much longer, and the thought of eventually telling Charlie weighed heavily on her mind. But in moments like this, filled with laughter and love, she felt a glimmer of hope that everything would work out in the end.

Just then, Vaggie's thoughts were interrupted by the arrival of Charlie, who walked into the room with a warm smile. "Hey, you two! What's going on in here?"

"Mommy just got punched!" Angelita exclaimed with delight, completely unaware of the awkwardness of the situation.

Charlie's expression turned to concern as she looked at Vaggie. "Oh no! Are you okay?"

"Really, I'm fine! Just a little surprised," Vaggie reassured her, masking her discomfort with a smile.

"Alright, just checking," Charlie said, her brows furrowing slightly in worry. "You look a little pale. Are you sure you're feeling alright?"

"I'm just tired," Vaggie replied quickly, hoping to deflect the attention. "I was helping Angelita with her toys. Right, Angelita?"

"Yep! I'm the best helper!" the little girl chirped, continuing to play without a care in the world.

Charlie smiled, but Vaggie could see the flicker of concern still in her eyes. "Okay, just remember to take care of yourself, too. We need you healthy and happy."

"Always," Vaggie promised, but deep down, she knew she had to come clean soon. The truth couldn't stay buried forever, especially with a little boy on the way.
