A/N Thank you for reading our story, this is our one-year special. We made it, thank you again for reading and enjoying this. As you've seen on the banner, this is a one-shot, an early Halloween special/teaser ;) Though this is a special, not ALL things here are canon. We also hope that this will give you more of a grasp of how the magic system works. From both of your authors, we sincerely thank you for reading and supporting us throughout this year.    Sugar wakes up, feeling ecstatic for the day. "Tay, wake up." She says joyfully, walking over, and then sitting on Taylor's bed. Taylor groans and turns from her. "No, it's early." Sugar raises an eyebrow. "You're the one who told me to wake you up early for today." Sugar crosses her legs and leans into Taylor's ear, "Houses of Horrors." She hums. Taylor's eyes open, she pushes her off, and runs to the bathroom. "Why didn't you tell me?" Taylor yells, Sugar rolls her eyes.

   "Can y'all shut up, it's..." Enid groans and then opens up her phone, her eyes squinting from the bright light. "4 AM?" She yells quietly, sitting up from shock. Sugar nods at her, even though she can't see her. "We need to prepare for today." Sugar proclaims.

   "What does today need preparing for?" She hisses at them.

   "Well, every year, on Halloween, spirits are at their strongest. We go around to find spirit gates and hunt down the evil and save the pure."

  "So like a witch hunt... but with ghosts?"

   "... Ghosthunting exists sweety." Enid's face flushes with red of embarrassment. "So how do you find these... portals?" Taylor finishes getting ready and walks out of the bathroom, overhearing the conversation, "That's how normies would say, portals are a form of transporting a person or thing from one place to the other in this plane, Spirit Gates is a hole between two or more planes of existence where stuff could leak in. Luckily we have one person who has a direct connection to the spirit world."

   Enid blinks blankly. "Me, Enid. Geeze you need some coffee." Sugar says as she gets items for the hunt. "No thanks, I plan on going back to sleep. Are y'all going to go right now?"

   "What? No, we plan out our day, getting food, and drinks, then go out to get some supplies for the hunt, and finally cash in some favors for information." Sugar explains. Enid nods even though she is half listening, "So when are you going to the cafe?" Enid says slyly. Sugar smirks, "Probably at 7, when it opens."

   "Oh, so you REALLY want to see your boyfriend."

   "Oh shut up." They both chuckle. 

   "Okay, we're heading out," Taylor says to Enid. "Alright have fun, I'll see you... when I wake up." Enid falls asleep, exhaling the sentence. The sisters walk out of the dorms and head out. Enid pops up awake, "Wait, why do they need to be up this early?"

   The sisters walk deep into the forest, finding a circle stone platform with engravings on it. They both stand on top of it and kneel down, holding each other's hand. "Maiden, Mother, Crone, hear our plea. Protect us from harm and bring in peace. May our prayers ward off the deceased and may their souls rest easily." They chant in unison and then get up. Taylor takes out her bag, pulls out an offering, and lays it on the platform.

   "So, what's the plan for today?" Sugar turns to Taylor, giving her a bright smile on her face. "Spa day?" Taylor suggests, Sugar's eyes brighten at her comment. "Coffee, breakfast, hair done, spa, then lunch you know to get our morale up for tonight." Taylor smiles and they both begin to walk back.

   "-- and I was thinking that we could get some games for the hunt..." Sugar pauses and looks around. Taylor looks at her with confusion, "What is it?" Sugar looks at Taylor, "I am needed in the spirit realm." Taylor's eyes widen in fear, "The fuck do you mean you're needed in the spirit realm? You can't fucking go." She yells, taking a step closer to Sugar. " I don't know, some crazy shit is going down there." The spirit realm holds spirits formed by the energy on Earth. Some are birthed from positivity and some from negative energy. They linger in a realm that is directly parallel to Earth with time moving differently, that's how gates can appear in some places. "Ok I trust you but if you are not back in 30 minutes I will be pulling you out. We will not be having a redo of last time." Taylor says with a stern voice and Sugar nods in agreement. Both girls get a stick and start to draw symbols in the dirt, with Sugar drawing an oval and she lays down in it. Taylor is drawing the symbols on the outside of it, as she is making the last one she asks Sugar, "Are you sure about this?" Sugar scoffs at her sister "You know they would never call for me unless I am truly needed." Her sister picks up there is doubt in her words and worry in her tone. Sugar grabs the pendant of her necklace that their mother gave them. Before Taylor finishes the last symbol she grabs the salt from her bag and puts it around her body making sure that she does not break the oval or symbols.
