Beep, beep, beep.

The alarm rang through the dark and cold bedroom as soft, golden rays streamed inside through the sheer curtains of the young girl's bedroom.

Aria hadn't gotten a lot of sleep the night before, her mind running with questions about the day before.

'Why is Wanda Maximoff here? What's going on with my town? Is Wanda in the same trance as everyone else? How do I fix this? I just want my life to go back to normal.'

Aria rubbed the sleep out of her eyes as she sat up, before realising that once again, her surroundings had changed. Her bedroom looked like one you'd see in a '60s sitcom, similar to the ones that she'd usually watch with her mother.

Aria wanted to scream. She couldn't understand why she was the only one who knew what was going on, and why this was all happening to begin with.

Aria scrambled out of her bed, the cold hitting her skin. She walked to her wardrobe, only to realise that all of her clothes were gone and she only had one outfit.

A blue vintage dress with puff sleeves, completed with a white collar.

"What?..." She muttered to herself as she grabbed the dress out of the closet.

Despite her displeasure, Aria slipped the dress on and made her way downstairs and into the kitchen.

Her mother was inside, cooking—or at least Aria thought she was. When she stepped closer to her mother, she noticed that she was repeating the same action. She was switching the stove on, and then off. Only to turn it on again. A blank stare on her face.

"Mom?" Aria spoke in a wary tone, stepping one step closer and looking toward her mother, and then to the stove.

No answer.

"Mom? Can you hear me?" She asked. She was confused. So confused. She didn't understand why her mother was acting this way, and why her mother wasn't answering her or even batting an eye at the worried girl.

Still, nothing.

Little did Aria know, her mother wanted nothing more than to answer her. To reassure her that everything was going to be okay and that she was going to fix everything.

But she realised yesterday that no matter what she wanted to say, it just came out as something else.

"Mom?" Aria spoke, her voice breaking slightly, and a tear streamed down her tan skin. She grabbed onto her mother's shirt, trying to shake her out of whatever trance she was in, but it didn't do anything. She just repeated the same action over and over.

"Mom, please answer me," She pleaded, hoping that if she continued to shake her mother and say her name, she'd snap out of it. But deep down, Aria knew that she wouldn't. It was almost as if someone was controlling her mother.

Aria couldn't understand why somebody would even begin to want to control her mother. Her mother was one of the most loved residents of Westview. She worked for the police department, for goodness sake. She would help out with fundraisers every weekend. Nobody hated her mother, so why was this happening to her?

With a heavy sigh, Aria sucked in a shaky breath before she wiped a stray tear away. "I'll fix this, Mom. I promise." She promised, but she wasn't sure she would be able to keep it. However, the young girl was determined to find a way to help her mother and all the other people in Westview.

Help bring the town back to normal.

Aria was walking around the busy town of Westview, hoping to find answers. She observed everyone, looking for something any weirder than the day prior. But much to her disappointment, everyone seemed pretty much the same as yesterday. So oblivious to the change in their town, but so happy to be there.
