The birds sang outside of Aria's bedroom window in the early hours of the morning. Golden rays of the sun streamed into the small room through the open curtains, casting a soft golden glow over the young girl's small frame.
After the incident with Wanda last night, Aria escaped as quickly as she could. She noticed that nobody else reacted to Wanda's little outburst other than the twins and herself, so she wasn't going to stay around and be questioned by who she figured was the most powerful being in the world.
Aria started to dread waking up. She just wished that this was all some sick nightmare and that she could just wake her up from it, but she knew that it wasn't a nightmare because nightmares never lasted this long.
The young girl hesitantly opened her eyes and stared at the roof, her eyes fixed on the ceiling as she procrastinated getting up, but despite her want to just rot in bed all day until this all ended, she knew that she had no choice but to get up.
She got herself into this, now she had to get herself out.
Aria let out an annoyed groan as she sat on the edge of her bed, her feet dangling off the side and barely touching the ground.
Her feet hit the cold hardwood floor before she lazily made her way to her wardrobe. Once she opened it, she was greeted with an overall dress and a long-sleeved green shirt.
She slipped the outfit on and made her way downstairs. She knew her mom probably wasn't going to be there, or she was going to be in the trance again, but she still called out to her regardless.
"Mom?" her voice rang through the empty house, but no response followed.
With a frown on the young girl's face, she slipped her shoes on and left the house before she made her way to the Maximoff's house.
The twins had said to her the night previously that she was always welcome, so she figured that she'd see them today. She had this strange gut feeling that told her that today was the day that she had to truly befriend the boys. They had to trust her.
So, she walked up to their door and knocked twice. She replaced the frown on her face with a smile as she waited for someone to answer.
Not even a minute later, the door opened and she was greeted by Billy. He held a welcoming smile on his face as he stepped aside to welcome her in.
"You have a nice house," Aria smiled politely as she stepped into the house.
"Thank you," He exclaimed as he made his way back to the couch that he and Tommy were originally sitting on.
Aria stood awkwardly next to the couch, not wanting to sit down in case she wasn't allowed to. Aria fiddled with her fingers as she watched the TV.
"What are you guys playing?" She asked quietly, still playing with her fingers anxiously.
"Mario Kart. you can join if you want!" Tommy spoke, so focused on trying to beat Billy that he didn't even look away from the TV.
"Oh, I'm not really good at games," Aria dismissed. She was actually really good at games, but she didn't want to bother the twins by seeming overly comfortable.
"That's okay, we can teach you!" Billy pushed the question further, but Aria only shook her head in response. But as Billy was about to hand Aria the remote, it started changing. The controller just got older until eventually, it turned into Uno cards.
"Uhh, are you aware that your controllers are changing?" Aria asked, with raised brows and a confused look on her face.
She knew that the boys were aware of it too since they stared at the controllers with a confused look on each of their faces.
